I hate that place.

Every time we go into the pastry shop in France, I have to make a choice. Of all the tasty-looking things there -- most of which I've never tried in all my life! -- I have to pick one. Just one. One!

It just makes me sad, every single time.

So on our recent trip, I decided to go outside of my self-made rules. I got one...of each!

Well, not really. I didn't get the things I already knew about because they're everywhere or I'd tried them before. So no cookies, no mousse, no eclair, etc. But I did have plenty of pastries precariously perched on my tray!

Then DW and I went outside, and tried a forkful of each. The one we liked the best was the napoleon. We didn't much care for most of them, as they all seemed dry and/or overly sweet. The only one we finished was the napoleon.

Has anyone else gone nuts like that, or are we the only ones? :)

I've never done that, but I stop by the Patisserie each time I am in Epcot (maybe 2X each day) and get something different. I love the lemon tart and anything almond. The croissants make an excellent mid-day snack (I often snack rather than eat a big sit-sown meal).

Now, I hate the Norway bakery b/c everything there is too sweet and uber-bland vanilla! We bought a school bread, a pretzel and something else there (for just the 2 of us) and one bite of each was more than enough for me. The pretzel almost made me barf it was so sweet.

This bakery used to be our fav place but over the last few years it has been awful....we do not like anything in there anymore and prefer the pastries from Norway or Sunshine Seasons instead

I'm hoping to try the cheese plate there next week. I'll let you know what I think of it .

We always find something here that we like, but I am bummed that the Strawberry mouse appears to be gone. At least it was in October.

I have to admit that I do this at the bakery chain Paul in Paris. Even though I go there almost every day whenever I am in town, it is always 'just one more'...They are on almost every large corner and/or metro station and have the best items.

Boulangerie Pâtisserie is a disappointment after hundreds of trips to Paul and other real French pâtisseries. (And Paul locations in Miami are a disappointment - I don't know if this is due to the lack of local ingredients, but not even the chocolate items taste good to me in Florida)

Oh, we so need a pic!! You didn't think it was wonderful? Why can't we have a bakery like that around here? Sorry to hear that the pasteries were dry. Well, if nothing else, they are certainaly fun to look at.

Believe it or not, we went there and didn't get sweets! EEK! I know. Instead DH and I got a cheese plate and took it out to one of the little cafe tables overlooking the water and got a couple of glasses of wine from the stand. There we sat and pretended that we were in Paris on our honeymoon. It was amazing! This is going to be our tradition every trip. Only this time, we will get something sweet to go with it and then go and watch the film afterward, which we somehow missed first time around.

We used to always stop at the Boulangerie Patisserie. However, in the last few years, the quality of the food seems to have greatly decreased. It's a bummer! I took my kids there two years ago after talking about how great it was and they were very disappointed. Last year, it hadn't gotten any better. It's no longer a stop for us!

Do you know what the types of cheese come on the cheese plate? Do you pick your own, or is it automatic?

Thanks!

I'm trying the cheese plate next week, too! :)

We've gotten the cheese plate several times! MMMMM! There's a wedge of Brie, a slice of Munster, and a wedge of Swiss, and it comes with at small baguette... I always hog all of the brie, with the baguette... my favorite! I wish it came with some fruit (grapes and apple slices... that would make it even better!) It's costs something like $5.95, but it's worth it for a snack for 2 people... I can't wait to get one when we come back!

Oh is this true? We really want to try at the Boulangerie Patisserie, but what I have heard here, It seems that we must change our plan:rotfl:

Thanks for this info. Have a nice day.:)

I ate as much of the chocolate mousse as I could stomach!! :rotfl: When I got home I looked up the recipe and made a double batch! I am back to reality now and have sworn off the mousse for now.

The lemon tart was really good too. Not too sweet...just right!

We use the majority of our snack credits at this place!!

We just had the cheese plate and it was a great value, 3 cheeses, brie , ementhal(swiss) and another soft cheese - almost like at St.Paulin some small fruit - grapes, and a demi baguette, it was enough for 2 to share as a hefty snack!! A great value at $5.95> We had champagne to share, lovely as a France stop!

The portions of cheese were large enough for 2 people to have some with a piece of bread each time!

I agree about the napolean... they are the best! And they're big enough to share :)
