Bought Site Unseen

By the way, we bought site unseen at the BCV or for that matter not seeing any of the other resorts (see earlier Bought on Credit Card post). We never would have been able to do so without coming across this board. We value everyone's opinions (good or bad) so much on this board!

We have bought sight unseen too, (and also on a credit card, but we're getting Chase Miles). The Fed Ex package with our documents and backpacks was just delivered, less than an hour ago. I came to read the boards to see what else is going on. We will be going to WDW over Halloween weekend and will tour as many vacation resorts as we can. I wonder if there's a poll that asks if you bought sight unseen, or if you bought after taking the tour. We have seen the outside of the villas, but not the accomodations. We began our "thinking about purchasing" phase in 1996, and are happy about our new status, DVCMembers!

Bought OKW sight unseen (7/2000) and before finding the DIS. Our first stay was a 1br 2/2001. What a WOW when we opened the door.

We also bought without checking out the resort first. We've stayed at most of the other Disney resorts and knew we loved it there. We were hoping to get a tour of BCV when we go in 2 weeks even though it's "too late" now.

hi: we bought sight unseen at bwv after it opened. we had turned down okw in 93 mainly for financial reasons as well as location because the kids were a bit younger then. we have been very pleased with our decision.

We also bought site unseen. I watched the video and called for more info. When we received the info I called and talked to our guide Byron. He explained everything to me and I made our purchase at VWL on the phone. Can't wait for our first trip home in Dec.

We also bought BWV site unseen. We went to visit OKW the previous year, liked the concept of DVC, but did not like OKW. After we got home and I started reading about the BW, we decided to buy 200 pts. Last year we bought 100 pts at BCV site unseen, although we had visited the BC, just had not seen the villas.(I guess that doesn't really count as site unseen. LOL)

We just got an add on of 100 pts at BW. I am jealous of all you 700+ point holders!!

We bought 230 points sight unseen back in 2000. We've added on 3 times since then. You will love it. Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Ditto the message from Gail and Joe, only it was a year ago, AND we added 50 points at BCV (also unseen) just before the price went up.

We truly bought sight unseen. Bought a 200 point BWV resale in 2001 and added on another 150 BWV resale in 2002 without having been to WDW since 1992 and never seeing any of the DVC properties. Had our first trip "home" last September and bought 100 more BWV points directly from DVC this year. Our next trip is in June. Unlike most of the posters we only plan to visit every 2 or 3 years, but we'll bring the whole family when we come. Our DS, DDIL, and 2 DGK spend a week in a VB one-bedrrom in June and our other DS, DDIL, and other 2 DGK spent a long weekend in a Hilton Head GV in January. So our points are being well used!!

We did the same thing this summer and then went down there in August and took the tour. The tour really convinced us that we made the right choice.

JerseyBob...we sort of bought sight unseen too. We had stayed at WL, so when VWL went on sale and we knew it had the same theming, it was a no brainer for us.

And yes, we have since bought additional points at BWV as well.

We bought site unseen at VWL and purchased another 50 before making that first trip home. I do have to say we saw the top of the roof from the Monorail. Does that count as site unseen?

When BCV came into existence we bought 'sight unseen' immediately. We had been going to WDW since 1988 and Beach Club was our favorite place to stay, so when they built BCV's we knew 'our time had come'. We love it and have already added on.
