I think I'm really getting into Scrapping now.

Bought a membership to the only Scrapbooking store here for $25/year.

I get to go in any time the store is open and use their tools, as long as there is no class going on. So all their die cutting stuff, templates, punches, stamps, etc. Thought it was an amazing deal.

Plus on Weds I get 12% off my purchases, 1 free theme page/month, and the owner is available to help co-ordianate colours and give advice. I even get 15% off on my birthday.

Does anybody else have some sort of membership like this or do you get together with lots of people who Scrapbook to share tools and company?

My LSS allows you to use their equipment as long as you purchase the paper you'll use there. And as long as a class isn't in session. It's great!

My LSS let's anyone in to use there tools free of charge. You can scrap there anytime, unless they have a class, for free. They are also very friendly and helpful.

Most of our LSS have punch card systems for frequent shoppers, but the one I work in has a membership program. $10 for year 10% off all purchase. 20% on your bday, 15% off after classes/crops. Or if you spend $100 in one purchase you get the membership card for free. We also always let customers use our die cut machines for free. We like for them to purchase the paper in the store, but usually don't say anything if they bring thier own.

I own a scrapbook store and we have a yearly membership that cost $30/year. If you are not a member, we charge $5 per day to crop. Those who come all the time, just buy the membership. Please understand that buying the membership helps the store owner absorb some of the costs of the chairs, tables, punches and other tools for the crop room. Currently, in our crop room for use is 3 Quickutz tools and several fonts, tons of punches, paper cutters, scissors and heat embossing gun. We also have several bottles of paint that the customers can use. For our members, we also have a couple of other incentives. We offer a frequent buyer card and it works this way - for every $20 (regular priced) merchandise you purchase, you get a stamp, once the card is full (10 stamps) you get a $20 store credit. Our members also get double stamps on Mondays for their purchases and get one purchase at 30% off the entire purchase during the month of their birthday. If we are having a sale, I usually call all of our members first and give them a "heads up" on the sale. The membership program in our store has been very successful thus far.

Our LSS has something similiar to Heather31. I have a friend that goes every Friday, but I have most everything I need at home, so its easier to stay in my scraproom area and crank out my pages.

Sounds like there are some really good memberships out there.

Heather31, the store owner did mention the fact that membership fees do help absorb costs, buy new tools, etc. and the coffee is always on.

I think this is a good option for everyone, especially beginners who don't know what tools are out there and how to use them. You don't need to spend lots of money on buying equipment you may not use much or like and good advice is just a head poke out the door.

This might help me control my spending but I still can't help checking out the scrapping and craft section at every single store I walk into.

We can go in and work in the scrapbooking area for 50 cents an hour anytime the store is open. They have a Sizzix you can use. I think it's a pretty good deal. I just wish I could get there more often. I've been going to my CMC's house quite a bit.
