Ok so about a month ago we bought the AP passes in hopes that they would release the discounts for AP holders for after June 14th... but no such luck yet :( Anyway I've been playing on the Disney website still and just received a 30% off pin code!!! BUT we want to do the dinning plan!! What do I do?? What is tables in wonderland or what not is that worth it over the dinning plan?? It will be over 2,000 for the dinning plan for our trip! I need advice our trip is approaching fast and we have no reservations for our honeymoon!!! :confused3

Personally, I would be way happier with the room only discount than Free Dining. I have done many trips just myself and one other adult, and to me, the free dining just doesn't make sense financially. It is too much food, and you can really save a lot of money by just eating when you are hungry as opposed to eating what you have to.

I would recommend using your room only discount and getting the Tables in Wonderland which will save you 20% off food and alcohol at the "nicer" restaurants. To me, you are getting a GREAT deal!

I think it depends on your main goals. Are you more interested in saving money on the vacation or how much you will think about your dining choices?

30% off the room is usually a substantial savings and will either meet or exceed the money you'd spend on the DDP, but it depends on which resort and what category you've booked.

Personally, I love that the TIW card works on drinks, apps, and entrees at TS. I tend to go for a drink and an app/salad instead of a full meal, so it works better for someone like me. If you like the dinner, dessert, non-alcohlic drink set-up then the DDP may be preferred.

Honestly, TIW offers more flexibility with similar savings. We are going to bring gift cards to use for most of our food purchases, so it will be a similar feeling as the DDP. The money will already be there:)

TiW makes more sense for us as well over free dining; it is just my husband and I, we get too full on the amount of food you get on free dining (and feel guilty if we order things without finishing them since its wasteful). We'd rather have a couple of very nice meals at signature restaurants rather than sit down every day, and tend to have drinks with dinner though not always. Since you still have to tip even with free dining, we end up spending a lot anyway too! Ugh! TiW all the way - I would love 30% off a room, but if we were a larger party in that one room I could see "free" dining making sense!

I'd do the 30% off... and plan on TIW....and when AP rates come out, then can switch to that and add the dining.... and hopefully the AP rate will be better than the 30%.

I'm also impatiently waiting AP rates past that date. We plan on doing the dining plan with the AP rate.

Have compared TIW to DDP our last trip... basically came out even for the most part. Where we did save with the DDP over TIW was the intial cost of TIW, and then the snacks included with our DDP (we did deluxe dining). We also like the fact that with dining plan, it's all paid in one shot instead of having all the out of pocket for dining when on our trip.

free dining isn't an option... as then have to purchase tickets in your package, which don't need if APs.

TIW versus DDP - really we've found the savings to be so similar.

I also would go for 30% off + TIW over dining plan. I think that will give you mroe flexibility. The regular dining plan is very structured.

We are in the exact same boat! We bought AP last month and want to go in September. I am anxiously awaiting an AP rate for this time, and then add dining. But we are debating TIW as well, I just don't know what would be better . . . we are new to this AP thing!!

I have done numerous trips with DDP, and on my last trip got AP and TIW. I really enjoyed the TIW and think it works better for us. The DDP can be a good value when you add up your receipts and compare what you paid for DDP. However, how much of that food would you have gotten if you were paying out of pocket? I would never get a dessert with a counter service for one. It was nice to have the flexibility of the TIW. Sometimes we just want appetizers and drinks. Sometimes I want to share a meal. Plus, we tend to have a lot of our bill dedicated to the bar tab, and it's nice to save 20% on the drinks! :thumbsup2
