We're staying in a studio at Boardwalk in a few weeks. We're using a town car service on the way over from the airport with a grocery stop. Decided to buy a collapseable cooler for my cold stuff. I don't want to have to worry about storage before our room is ready. It's pretty nice. It folds down flat and will hold 24 cans of pop (although I'm using it for milk, lunch meat, etc.)

Anybody else do this for your DVC trips if you don't want to rent a car?

A few trips back I purchased one of those inexpensive insulated bags they sell at SAM's just for the trip back to the DVC resort.

The collapseable cooler is a great idea. THANKS!

We bought one at Costco - it has a silver.insulation.inside, right? It works surprisingly well, keeps meats, beverages, fruit cool for a long time.

We bought on 3 yrs ago for bringing soda/ beer/ juice boxes to the pool so we didn't have to keep going back to the room for them. They work awesome. We used it at CSR to keep our milk cold for cereal!

We bought one a few years ago. It will hold about 8 cans or 6 bottles, I think. It has a plastic liner similar to a small trash can. I take the liner out and put it down into a piece of luggage and pack stuff that might gat crushed in flight. The soft cooler itself will fold up and fit in a pocket of the luggage. As someone stated before it's handy to carry to the pool.

Drtomorrow,

I saw the tote bag type coolers that had the silver insulation. I debated on that one, but the collapseable cooler I bought was on sale for just $5.00 more so I went with that because it had wheels on it to where you could pull it like a small suitcase.

I really like that these fold flat in a suit case. Somebody had a great idea when they thought of these!

we always bring a fold up cooler bag for our cold stuff and beer at the pool. we just got back last week and dh was suppose to have packed the cooler bag , he said he remember getting it down from the attic. so we had to make a fast run to walmart to buy one. at the end of our trip we were going to post a thread to see if another dvc member need a cooler bag and just had it off because the cooler bag had a hard square tray that fit in side so the ice doesnt melt thru the bag, well we found out the poly didnt have high speed internet , just dial up and i didnt know if they charged by the min. plus the actually call, so we didnt bother with the internet. the funny part was when we got home the cooler bag dh was supposed to have pack was right in the middle of the garage floor, lol.lol dh said now he remembers that he went back up in the attic to get the luggage cart , we put the lap top and all our carry ons on a luggage cart so we all dont look like packing mules, lol.lol

I purchased a collapsible cooler with wheels last year at Walmart for less than $20, and I love it! We took it to the pool with drinks and snacks, as well as to Blizzard Beach with water bottles and deli meats and cheese. Rather than feel "ghetto", as my teenage daughter said we would, I felt rather smug when the folks sitting next to us commented how jealous they were. After swimming for 2 hours, my kids were ready for an early lunch, but some of the counter-service places near us were not open at 11 AM. The kids were able to make a sandwich(complete with pickles) and have some fruit, and that kept them going for a few more hours. I told my SIL to bring her collapsible cooler, too, and she was so grateful for the advice. When my youngest daughter and I went to WDW on a "Mommy and me" trip last year, it was so convenient to roll that cooler right to the ice machine for refills. And when we are ready to leave, we can either fold it up and pack it in my suitcase, or load it up with souvenirs and roll it right out Mickey's door!

They always seem to leak for us. Can't find one that doesn't end up leaking water everywhere as the ice melts.

Do note that they do have cold storage at bell services for any groceries if your room is not ready, not that you're talking exactly about that at this point. The cooler would come in handy for schlepping to/from.

We have a cooler too, but only for when we stay at non DVC resorts. All the DVC resorts have refrigeration available for you between when you check in and when your room is ready.

We bought one last year for our trip to the Polynesian. It was wonderful. It has a really heavy duty liner that zips in. You can unzip it, take it out and fill it with ice at the ice machine. It never leaked at all. And it folds up quite nicely. We'll be taking it along again for our cold stuff at the AllStars before we move over to BWV this summer.

Just back we used a cooler for drinks and snacks by the pool.
And it can also came in handy as an extra carry on for all the Disney Merch we were not buying this year.It was full
