BIL traveling to WDW with his DW in 6 weeks. Has PS at Alfredo's but is having second thoughts. Would this be a good choice as this is thier 1st trip to DWD. They have PS to California Grill and 50's Prime Time. Can you help him decide if Alfredo's is a good choice or should he look elsewhere. It does not have to be Italian either.

I think the food at Alfredo's is very good. I would not say that it is the most "romantic" place to eat as it can be a little loud and some of the tables are pretty close together. If you like Fettucini Alfredo, this is the place to get it, and the tiramisu is very good. Bottom line I would definately say "YES!"

We had our Candlelight Processional package there last December. We had the trio of pasta, it was pretty good. I'd try to go early, the restaurant gets crowded and the tables are close.

I can't complain about my meal, it was good.
The tables were so close I felt uncomfortable.

We went several years ago and were not impressed. Went last January and had a good meal for a decent price. Give it a try!

DH and I only tried Alfredo's once and didn't care for it at all. As the other posters have mentioned, the food was ok, but the tables are much too close together. We were seated between two other tables for two and no matter how low we kept our voices, it was like one big happy family. I think this restaurant is so popular because so many Americans are used to Italian food.
Oddly enough, one of our favorites is Restaurant Marakesh. Food was great, we loved the decor and ambience and the floor show was impressive.

I personally enjoyed the food but I can't account for my subjective tastes vs any one elses really. I felt the service was good and friendly in my experience and the food seemed like it was prepared well. Also, there seemed to be a lot of variety on the menu, including desserts which was the highlight of my meal :)

As for the atmosphere, I think they try to make it like a festive, family style place. The tables are close together and at three points during the meal, the restaurant broke into song...no, i'm not kidding :) During one song, everyone started swinging their napkins around. And I joined in...after all, how many opportunities does one get to swing their napkin around in a restaurant and NOT get thrown out! LOL

So yeah, its "family style" and a very social restaurant. So Tikibird, and anyone else interested in Alfredo's, if your BIL wants a bit more quieter, intimate dinner, (with minimum napkin swinging) he may want another place. Perhaps it is quieter for lunch though, i've only been there for dinner.

We go to Alfredo's each trip, and have always had a good meal and a good experience there.

Our third and LAST trip there, last January....horrible food (with the North End of Boston--down the street--we know what good Italian food is!!!!), horrible service and crowded tables. There are so many better restaurant to choose from (Spoodles!!!), why chance it........Just our thoughts.....

I also loved the fettucine and the desserts. The atmosphere is a little loud, but very fun! Dinner was a little better than lunch, but that may have been what I ordered. The lasagna is also very good. You can get the fettucine, lasagna and gnocchi in a sampler meal at dinner.

I'm a "no." The food is all right and the tables close together don't bother me, but it's always so crowded and you usually have to wait even with a PS. Thus, it's just not worth the hassle to me.

Yes, great choice..we love Alfredo's. (and we have been there recently, it wasn't years ago)

Alfredos a lot!! Great food and service, and strolling opera singers to boot! It really depends, I think, on what type of food you like when choosing a restaurant at World Showcase. We also love Chefs de France and Le Cellier. Love French food! Would never eat in Germany. Or Norway.

It's one of my favorites! I recommed eating outside on the patio if weather permits. Atmosphere is outstanding!

If its your first time I would say yes - but if youre repeating try elsewhere.

I love Alfredo's. Last May I had a Gorgonzola Gnocchi, which was excellent. However, they didn't have it in November, much to my dismay, but if they have it I would definitely recommend it (if you like gorgonzola :teeth: ). The desserts are awesome. It's so hard to pick from the dessert tray; everything looks wonderful!

It is very crowded, but I really didn't have a problem with it.

I would say try it! :flower:

This is DH favorite restaurant. We go here at least twice each trip. We usually try to go between 2p.m. and 3:30p.m. though to avoid crowds. Tables are a little close for comfort. They've never broken into song while we ate there, but the food is very good. I'm not much of a pasta fan and I like the pasta here.

The only thing we had here that I wouldn't get again was the antipasta appetizer. But part of that was it had a lot of olives on it and though I love olive oil, can't stand olives. The fettucini alfredo is awesome. I've had the caesar salad as a meal and the chicken parmegiana - both were extremely good.

This is not Olive Garden food. If you like Olive Garden as "authentic Italian" and not as "I want some ok Americanized Italian-like food" I'd not recommend eating here.
