I personally enjoyed the food but I can't account for my subjective tastes vs any one elses really. I felt the service was good and friendly in my experience and the food seemed like it was prepared well. Also, there seemed to be a lot of variety on the menu, including desserts which was the highlight of my meal
As for the atmosphere, I think they try to make it like a festive, family style place. The tables are close together and at three points during the meal, the restaurant broke into song...no, i'm not kidding

During one song, everyone started swinging their napkins around. And I joined in...after all, how many opportunities does one get to swing their napkin around in a restaurant and NOT get thrown out! LOL
So yeah, its "family style" and a very social restaurant. So Tikibird, and anyone else interested in Alfredo's, if your BIL wants a bit more quieter, intimate dinner, (with minimum napkin swinging) he may want another place. Perhaps it is quieter for lunch though, i've only been there for dinner.
