Do the parks allow you to bring in bottled water?
How much is a bottle in the parks?
Can you carry bottled water onto rides?
I've read that park eateries provide ice water on request... is this true?
Being a Brit, I don't know about 'ice water etiquet'...is it a courtesy or a right in America?
Sorry to be asking boring questions about water but we're going in the summer (been Easter on previous trips) & am therefore concerned about the need & expense of staying hydrated. If park water is similar in cost to a Bud, hydration might be a tough call! :rotfl:

I'm not sure on the bottled water cost. We bought a couple of Sponge bob cups the first day - they were around $5 filled with soda. The rest of the trip they were refilled with water/ice for free. Soda refills were $1.xx. I know investing in the cups the first day was much cheaper than getting bottled water and there was room for ice.

These were the cheapest cups and we bought them near the Back to the Future ride. Many of the cups in IOA were around $10, but thanks to these boards, I knew where to get the cheaper cups. Refills are the same cost on all of them.

Yes, you can bring bottle water into the parks. The bottles cost around $2.50 in the parks. As for the rides, the bottles must either be placed in lockers (Hulk, Dragons, Mummy), or in a storage compartment, or on the floor of the ride vehicle. And yes, ice/water is free.

If you have a huge water bottle, it's best to put it in a locker for coasters like Hulk, Mummy, and Dueling Dragons. You won't be able to set it on the exit platform. I say this because one time a girl was about to board the Mummy and was told she couldn't get on with her water bottle, she'd have to leave it. Basically, your hands have to be empty on the big coasters. Smaller water bottles (10 oz) will fit in cargo pants, and I've ridden the Mummy with one and it didn't fly out.
They do have water fountains around the park and they are clean.
Beer will cost you $5 for a draft in a plastic cup. During happy hour, it's $3. In IOA, the bar near JRPA opens at 2pm, the others start happy hour around 4pm. Check each bar for their times and specials. You are allowed to walk thru the park with your beer, which is nice, because some parks up north make people stay in a beer garden.

Thanks guys,
Given all the trouble I've read about lockers & the time wasted there I recon that one of our party will have to hold all the bottles, when riding coasters.
I've seen 0.5 litre bottles in a pack of 12 on netgrocer for around $6, which for a family of four at at least one per person per day, for 14 days, makes a good saving...worth bringing in! :)

That's a shame, unless there is someone in your party who doesn't want to go on the coasters.
