Bottled water? Yes or no?

Bottled water??

  • Bring it for resort area only

  • Don't worry about it, get free ice water from CS locations

  • Plan on bringing it and lugging it around.

I'm taking a stroller and bag so bottled water it is!!

Last time we went, that's what we done too. But we would park the stroller with our little cooler bag in it and would go to a different area in the park. Later on in the day, we would come get the stroller. The kids didn't want to ride in it at all. So I'm not doing one this year.

Since you are going in August, you will absolutely need to have water with you at all times. Stopping occasionally for a drink isn't going to keep you going in the August heat/humdity..you need to be drinking constantly, especially the kiddos. We saw more people getting physically sick from the heat. We went in June and brought these:

They were an absolute lifesaver. They have a filter built into the top 1/2 of the bottle. You just twist them open and fill them up. When you drink, the water goes through the filter. We would fill them with ice in the morning before we left the resort, then refill with ice throughout the day at the CS places. You can fill them with water from any of the drinking fountains and the filter made it taste as clean and fresh as bottled water. :)
HTH. :)

How many did you bring?

Do you think the Sigg straps would fit?

We brought 2 for the four of us. Each bottle had a filter in it and we packed 2 extra. We drank so much water that I switched the filters out 1/2 through our trip. I just looked at the Sigg straps and I honestly don't know if they would fit. If I had to guess I would say they wouldn't as the bottle that I saw with the Sigg Strap is made/shaped differently than the Liv Fit & Pur bottle. We put the two of ours in the side pockets of the backpack that DH carried. :)

See I never thought about that. Is there an actual name for the bottle holders that you can with ya? We wouldn't beable to attach them to our belt loops (not the kids anyway).

Keep the comments coming.

I just carried mine in my purse. I'm not sure of the name of the carrier we bought for youngest DS. Like I said we bought his in the park at a little kiosk/cart right by the entrance. It was insulated though so it helped to keep the water cold. It went over his shoulder and was very light weight - only a few ounces. The water bottle or soda bottle just slipped in or out. It held a 20 oz bottle with ease. You could just try googling water bottle carrier. Many rides we just left it over his shoulder others we would take it off and put it under the seat with my purse. Because the bottles we bought were the Dasani ones that sealed with a twist off cap it was never a problem.

I would hate to haul water bottles from my resort to the parks in the August heat beccause in no time, you have very warm water, which I think is totally gross to drink. I think that the drinking fountains, getting iced water in cups from the CS locations (which I personally would only do if I was purchasing something, but I do not begrudge those who don't), or cold bottled water I buy at the parks would be the options I would choose. I don't mind the drinking water in WDW...it is cold, wet and does the trick.

We have ordered bottled water from Costco in the past. We bought a bottle clip there at the hotel gift shop . we just clip it on belt loop or our "fashionable" fannypacks. not a problem.

Since we are on the subject of bottle water. Can we still order water from costco and have them delivered? I t has been 2 yrs since we have done this. For some odd reason I thought I heard they didn't want us to do that any :wizard:longer.

We have a case of bottled for the room and bring our reusable bottles to the parks, we have carabeaners(sp.) for them and we sometimes put the lemonades from counter service or just ice water from cs in depends, usually we just keep adding more ice and it melts and its still got a bit of lemon taste to it :goodvibes I try to pack light for parks and bottled water would be heavy to lug to keep us hydrated for the day, but we also don't mind the taste of CS water, but thats just us I guess, water is water ours at home is a bit sulferie so we don't have great water either!

This summer is going to be out 1st trip without a stroller, so it's going to be much different. Usually I pack a soft sided cooler with cold or frozen water bottles and washcloths packed in ice (in baggies). The washcloths are a lifesaver in the summer heat to put on our necks or wipes our faces and the water stays cold. I'm not sure the kids will lug bottles around, but I know I'll at least carry mine. I guess we'll buy bottled water for the room and I'll give everyone the option.
