Wondering if bottled water is available at WDW that is NOT Dasani (can't stand the stuff) other than at the France pavilion at EPCOT? Last year when we went we had Tiffany Town Car service and stopped at the grocery store, but this time we're probably going to do Magical Express due to budget and we can't bring tons of bottled water because the airline won't let you check liquids (wasn't that a surprise at check-in last year! you should have seen us trying to scramble to unload it from suitcases to carryons!!! :rotfl2: ). I still mix DS juice with water and we tend to drink a lot but not from the tap, and don't like Brita (I know, could I be any pickier!?!?!)

Any suggestions would be great!

Check out www.wegoshop.com They will deliver to your resort. $15 for up to $100 in groceries. It would pay for itself in savings, fairly quickly, and they get really good reviews from people who have used them.

What airline was that? I put bottled water in my luggage last year without a problem.

Just back and we drank a ton of bottled water all over the 'World.' It was all the same--all Dasani. Sorry. I loved it though because it was big, generous 24 oz bottles with a sport spout.

I never thought about it either, and since we went at the end of Sept when the weather was still warm, we packed 2 cases (35 bottles each) of water in 2 suitcases. When we got to check in, they asked the usual questions but then asked if we had packed any liquids in our checked baggage. Well of course I said yes, lots of bottled water. She said they don't allow it because the change in pressure makes the bottles leak, even if they are still sealed and can then leak all over everyones luggage. Understandable, but here's us trying to fit 70 bottles of water in 5 peoples carryon luggage!!!

I don't want to spend a lot of money on groceries (goodness knows we left probably $50 worth of unopened food when we checked out last time), it's just the water issue. I don't think we'll spend $100, not even $50, just the water. Where I live we have been drinking bottled water for over 15 years...too many water scares and boil water advisories make us nervous folks.

Is there a grocery store within walking distance anywhere on property or just off? We won't have a car, and we'll have to carry back what we buy. Is there any other type of water in Downtown Disney at all? I know Disney's contract is with Coke, but geez, a lot of people hate the Dasani water because it's mineral water, not spring water!

Seems obvious after being there that there is a contract to have only Dasani. (made by Coca Cola, isn't it?) Anyway, so any grocery on site would probably only have that. There are a couple grocery stores across from Downtown Disney. Maybe not walk, but you could get a taxi from there and then bus back to the resort.

Actually, Dasani is just filtered local tap water, not spring water. In Pittsburgh, Coca Cola uses Pittsburgh tap water Pittsburgh Dasani , in Calgary, Alberta, they use Calgary tap water, Dasani etc. :drinking:

I was told you could check a case of bottled water as luggage, as long as it's the kind that's contained within the cardboard-box type case. I haven't done it yet, so I can't confirm that. Does anybody here know?

Okay...I just checked the Southwest site, since that's who I'll be flying with next, and it doesn't say anything about not being allowed to carry/pack liquids. And it does say that you can bring alcohol/wine, either carryon or packed in checked baggage...last time I checked alcohol/wine was indeed liquid.

Really!?!

No wonder it's not very liked!LOL DD will only drink if it's ICE COLD!

:rotfl2:

What about the HESS Gas Station across from DTD? Maybe they would have other brands.

.. don't tell them, but I've managed to get a bottle of 12 year old Dom Perignon checked in my luggage (secured in its box) and had no problems!
So... no liquid... you can no longer bring shampoo? That's liquid. What about hair spray? That's liquid too...

You'd be surprised! Quite a few brands of bottled water aren't from the fresh mountain springs at all. Many of them are just filtered city water. Great way to make a killing, eh?

The HESS stations on Disney property only carry Coke products as well. I had to go off property to get a Pepsi. Good news is that they sell Coke's and stuff at normal prices.

My daughter is insisting she needs to take tons Poland Spring water with her in December. I can't figure out how we're going to do this! :confused3 I'll check into the grocery service thanks!!

Out of curiosity, is the broad preference of spring over mineral water due to taste or some other reason??? I really don't notice much of a difference in taste between various products.

I can't stand Dasani either! YUCK!!!!!! I just use water from the water fountains and add some crystal light singles.
