I am making boittlecaps for a swap. I posted this on the swap itself but does anyone here have an answer about them:
I have a technique question. I haven't done bottlecaps before. I have the caps and the circle cuts to go on them but most of the commercial ones have some kind of a varnish over them- what do I need to get this look or should I just keep them as regular cardstock. Also should I try to figure out a way to attach them to a book and put in the glue to the back (I am guessing I should use layers of the thick mounting tape I usually use for shaker boxes).

Well, to get the varnish look, you could do a couple things, you could either
1.Heat emboss with UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel)
2. Use mod-podge.
Either will give you a glossy look...

For adhereing them, yes, you can use those foam squares, and usally 2 is good enough to adhere them, (stack 2 on top of each other to build height).
Hope that helps?!
:O)

I've been wondering about bottlecaps too (not to hijack your thread :) ). Do most people leave 'em as it, or flatten them?
