Just got back and of course had to buy Pal Mickey (who says you can't buy friends!) but he was hard to keep up with and the hook was unreliable. So I put my bottle strap around his neck and wore him around mine! That made it easy to get him to my ear to listen and I couldn't drop him.

I felt that his neck was sturdy enough to handle the strap and he seems fine. Hope this helps someone else!!

Just bumping back to the top so everyone sees your tip. It was also mentioned in today's ALL EARS newsletter.

I'm going to make sure I use a bottle strap for him! Thanks for posting this!

It is in the newsletter - that is so funny after you read my post below on the letter I wrote suggesting this and a paralegal answered. Believe me - I wish someone had suggested it to us before we lost our Pal Mickey!

Are bottle straps available outside the World or do you have to pay Disney prices for them?

I haven't seen any Disney bottle straps anywhere but the parks, but I seem to recall seeing generic ones about. Not exactly sure where. Whatever the case, the cost of the WDW straps are pretty nominal, $2.50 or so, and they make a great souvenir. I have a couple from Epcot during the millenium celebration and we bring them back all the time.

By the way, they are indeed a GREAT investment and makes carrying around a water or soda bottle a breeze!

What a great idea! I have bottle straps from DCL. I will be sure to bring them for Pal Mickey. Now I will need some for the water bottles.

BTW - How much was Pal Mickey and where was he available?

When I first heard about it I initially thought it was pretty lame and no way would I be sucked in... But then, I read so many glowing reports on the boards, I can feel myself being pulled and tugged...

TIA, Jeff

Pal Mickey was $50 and I got him at the Settlement Trading Post at Fort Wilderness. I also saw him a many of the shops in the parks. He is okay--I may have missed some of the things he had to say but we enjoyed having him.

I am just wondering what is a "Pal Mickey" . We have been to WDW a couple of times and never heard of such a thing.

Thanks

Did you ever see adults with Pal Mickey, or just kids? I would love to have one, and don't want to be the only adult carrying a stuffed animal around!

I just got back from Disney and the first thing my DH did was buy me a Pal Mickey from Coronado Springs. I had to return the first one because his left hand sensor did not work all the time and he would shut off for like 10-30 min. out of attractions(wasnt batt.). Supposedly the first short in a Pal Mickey CMs said, but had no problem trading him in after 2 and a half days. Keep your receipts!!! As for his clip, I turned it upside down so he would clip upwards on my fannypack, belt, etc. I had problems getting him off that way! One CM saw him and turned his clip around when playing with it. By the end of the day his little belt holder had come unsewn some. Now I have to perform surgery on poor little Mickey before our next trip in July. I really only noticed adults with him. I might try the holder suggested though. My DH said I needed his own little back pack so he doesnt get lost or wet on rides/shows. Let him tote hime around)LOL! If you come up with other ideas, I am open to anything! Good luck and enjoy your Pal Mickey!
