Both parks only 1 day Thanksgiving week......help

We have always done both parks in one day picking only our favorite rides, but we haven't been since the new HP sections and are going Thanksgiving week.....thinking Tuesday, so I am wondering if we should buy the EP? Of course this will cost My family of 5 $1200 for one day....YIKES!!!! Advice please.
