It's not ideal but my friend and I are having to do both parks in one day! It'll be during Aug 13-16. I wish she would have scheduled it after school starts but oh well. Anyway, what's your advice? We're going to do the minimum in DL since we only have one day. She hasn't been there since she was three but we go to DW all the time & she used to work there. We've never been to CA. Which attractions are musts besides the roller coaster? TIA.

Well, here is a link to a thread from yesterday, in which Hound 109 posted some informative links (including HydroGuy's tips) that may help you in getting the most out of a 1-day trip with a Park Hopper. Maybe that will get you started in the right direction. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2211286

I definitely think that getting the Hopper is worth it. Have you been on Soarin' or Toy Story Midway Mania in WDW? If not, don't miss those at DCA! Also, Monsters Inc. is a good one to see as well.

Thanks. Forgot to mention we're getting the Hopper. We probably will do Soarin' though it's the same WDW & DCA. TSMM was way too crazy when I was at WDW this May so we could try that. Glad to hear that you liked Monsters Inc. I haven't heard much about it.

The Monsters Inc. ride is darling!

I would overall recommend the Aladdin show in DCA, unless you really think you'll be able to run all day without any break at all. If you do visit the show, you'll have maybe 30-40 minutes of sitting in air-conditioned comfort, at least, and an excellent show to boot! The area we waited in, at least, was somewhat shady too. :)

As long as you aren't set on doing it all, you'll do fine. I did three WDW parks in 2 days last summer, and while of course I didn't see everything, I felt like I had a spectacular trip! (And I feel like I did almost as much then as I did in my recent approximately 4 days at DL!)

You have to make a point to do Space Mountain. Most WDW veterans find DL's SM to be far superior to MK's.

You need to make time for at least 2 rides on California Screamin! One during the day and one at night. IMHO, it is so much more fun at night.

A lot of WDW veterans like TOT in DHS more than in CA. I still say ride it... you will be in DCA so you might as well. Fastpass it so it doesn't take up too much time.

I would hit up grizzly river run. It is an awesome ride that will get you soaking wet.

If you are ok with heights and the constant fear of falling to your death, I say ride Mickey's Fun Wheel. If you are daring, you can ride in one of mickey's swinging gondolas of doom.

You have muppets 3D in WDW, so you can skip that. You don't need to ride soaring, but it is cooler in CA just because it is about Cali.

Don't forget to hit up pirates, so much better in DL!

I forgot to mention Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. You don't have that in WDW! It is such a horrible ride for children. What kind of traumatizing message does the last scene send?

Snow White is almost as bad. I'm not scared of it anymore... but I can see why I was as a kid.
