My family will be going to Florida in October, mainly to visit my uncle who will be celebrating his birthday. However, we will have a day of free-time. We'll be at Hard Rock for the first two nights, so we can take advantage of Universal Express. Even so, can we do what we want in both parks in one day? The youngest is 14, so I doubt that we'll spend much time in Seuss Landing/Woody Woodpeck, and none of us want to get wet, so Toon Lagoon is out too.

Since you're staying onsite, you should have no problems doing both parks in one day...especially if you're skipping the kiddie rides. During October the crowds are generally light so that will help even more with the wait times.

we went september 2006 and the crowds were generally light. we paid extra for the express pass and were able to see everything we wanted to see and do in both parks in one day. it's nice going during a time of year when crowds are low. :thumbsup2

what dates in october are you staying there?

HHN happens in october and a few days in november this year.
on the nights that hhn will be going on, IOA will close at 6 pm and the studios will close at 5 pm. HHN is scheduled for th-fri-sat-sun and some wednesdays.

crowds will start around 2-3 pm ish on the hhn dates.
even though you are staying on site, go to the park early and when the crowds begin, go back to your hotel to enjoy what they have to offer.
in the evenings you can do the pool and city walk.
