Both Parks in 1 day?

We've never been to US in Orlando. Want to take one day to see only the HP areas - know it's in two parks and we need a P-T-P ticket (expensive!). It would be mid-week the 3rd week of September. We're not interested in thrill rides - unless they have a cool queue ;). Is it possible to see both areas, ride the HE, and look through the shops in one day? Crowd calculators say lower crowds but as we've never been wanted to ask it of those that know best! Thanks in advance for any advice.

Probably would be fine. Hard to say how long the lines for Gringotts will be by then.

At this point, even in slow season I'd normally recommend at least 2 nights. I do agree with Damo that you can probably see the highlights of both parks in 1 day.

The best Disney analogy would be doing DHS and DAK in one day if they were right next to each other so transportation wasn't an issue. And this analogy works best before DA opened.

Yes you are going to need to skip a lot of stuff. What you'll want to skip depend on what you consider a "thrill ride" and what you consider a "cool queue"

Touringplans.com has several 1 day/2 park plans to get you started based on your desires. With coupon code it can be under $5 for access to everything.

We hadn't been to US in years so last March (2013) decided to give it a try. Could absolutely have done both in one day and gotta say wasn't a big fan. None of us were. Much prefer Disney World parks. More to do. Glad we did it to know, but probably won't need to go back again any time soon.

Thank you for all the input. Think we'll stick with just Disney parks this time and maybe try for an all-Universal trip at some point. Sure appreciate the help!

M.K.
