We are looking at trying to cover both parks on Tuesday Oct 25th.

Currently not planning to stay on site. But would consider staying there if it will make a big difference.

It has been 7 years since we have been there - but we mostly are interested in the big attractions - HP and thrill rides.

With no early entry does it make sense to start at IOA first and go to HP right away? Any advice on a touring plan?

What can we expect for wait times?

Still trying to decide if it is worth it to stay on site for the early entry and FOTL - any opinions considering it is midweek Oct?

You should be fine w/o having to stay onsite during that week. October 25th is not an HHN night so the Studios will close at 6pm and IOA 7pm...this is based on last year's hours...they can always change of course. Try to be there as early as possible so you can get a jump on WWoHP before the crowds arrive. Wait times for other attractions should be less than 30 minutes throughout the day and its a good possibilty some will be no wait. October is a great time to visit!

Since you want to do just about everything major...hit WWoHP first and then explore the rest of the park. If you find you've spent too much time at IOA and still want to do the Studios, you can consider buying Express Plus passes when you arrive at the Studios but you shouldn't need it except for a couple of attractions.

Thanks.

If everyone is doing WWoHP first wouldn't it be better to do it later when things calm down a bit?

WWoHP is busy all the time but crowds should be thinner as the day wears on. Usually its best to get WWoHP out of the way and enjoy the rest of the day but its whatever you want to do. Check out the lines and make the decision then.

I'm wondering the same about Sunday Oct. 23. We are 4 adults and 1 little guy (age 2). Is it feasible for us to do both parks in one day? My gut instinct says no, but I figured someone more knowledgeable could give some insight. 2 of the adults will be staying for HHN and 2 of us leaving with the little one if that makes any difference.
TIA!

You won't be able to do everything in both parks in a single day but you can do the headliners. WWoHP is the wild card. Last year the crowds were high for that section of IOA but pretty light elsewhere. Since you have two adults staying for HHN, make sure you do the Studios last so they can do Stay & Scream. As long as they have their HHN tickets for that night in hand, they can stay in the park after closing and get a jump on the houses. It's worth it...believe me.

Thanks so much Metro! I'm going to talk it over with the other party later and see what we can figure out. We have 2 days that can potentially be Universal days, and I think since the other 2 adults haven't done WWoHP its going to end up being a 2 day affair.

That's probably a wise move to do two days and I can't stress enough the importance of S & S for HHN.
