I was opening my ornament boxes to find the one I bought for my dad a few weeks ago during my trip to the world and to my surprise I found that both were broken. I am so sad as I watched the CM wrap them both (in perfect condition) and put them aside to deliver to my resort. I also made sure to pack them in my carry on which was placed at my feet during the plane ride. The only thing I didn't do was check them at the resort before I left the world. :guilty:

So if anyone else buys ornaments this holiday season please check them before you leave. I'm hoping WDW will replace them but there is no telling.

Oh that is so sad. It is so hard to get things home in one piece. I hope you are able to get them replaced! Hope a little pixiedust will help! pixiedust:

I think Disney will replace them for you. I had something like that happen to me once and they replaced the item. Mine was missing, not broken. But they're extremely good about this sort of thing.

I buy a lot of snowglobes during our trips (hence my username) and have had more than one broken when I arrived home - and I was like you, I watched them wrap it up before putting it aside to send to the hotel. They have always been great to send me a new one. Just call them and explain what happened. They may ask for a copy of your receipt though. If I remember correctly, I had to send a copy of the receipt back with the snowglobe - but it was with a large globe. I got home and had a small Stitch globe broken once and they just sent me another one without me shipping the broken one back to them.

We have been just paying to have them ship the stuff home on things like that.

The shipping did just go up so we need to take that into account but it just about offset the taxes that we would have paid anyhow.

Our last item was a large figurein and was broke .They were out of stock but expecting more in so they offered me a credit or to just wait but they were very good about it.

Glass objects of any description, notably the blown glass objects, are difficult to pack. I do not recommend buying any unless the package, once it enters your control, will never leave your control until you get it home. Since keeping control of items on airplanes is never certain, I do not recommend putting glass objects in your airline baggage allowance.

Items shipped direct to home from Disney do not enter your control until final arrival, thus such shipment is acceptable.

I had a small snowglobe with Peter pan and Captain hook on it and a part fell off during transit. I called the number for merchandising and got told that since I didn't have it shipped home that i couldn't get it replaced. That because I chose to carry it home that i was responsible.

I spoke with a supervisor explained that I didn't realize i could ship it home and she was kind of to replace it for me. She explained how i could ship it home from the parks and I would and will in the future ship things home that way!

Call and speak with them they might be willing to replace them but I'm sorry they broke.

I returned home from WDW and discovered that a baseball cap I bought still had the security device attached to it. You know the one where if you tamper with it ink will come out of it.

Maybe I'll call the number as well. I did get rid of the receipt, but I also charged it to my room. So maybe there is proof out there somewhere that I actually purchased it.

If you have a Disney Store near you give them a call, they might be able to take it off there. My friend had an ink tag left on her jacket and they were able to remove it.

I've had something replaced that I broke myself. I told the CM what happened (not expecting to get the new one for free) and she said "I spoke with Mickey, and he said it's on him!" WOOT WOOT, I love Disney World
