Both Free Dining and AAA Discount?

Have any of you who have booked through AAA gotten both their discount and FDDP? My mom wants to know...

Nope. It's one or the other...Free Dining usually ends up being the better deal depending on the hotel/length of stay/number of guests.

People will swear on here it can't be done, but when we took our trip in 2006 our agent booked us both...(no one believes me around here, but I ran the numbers several times to double check.) I asked her about it and she thought it was standard...so I don't know.

tinker&belle, you are right. We've booked it three years in a row with AAA and the free dining. It's the cheapest way to go. We get a AAA membership just for that because it saves us over and above the cost of the membership making AAA free plus a bit of savings. Suz

You CAN do both -- but you have to book your package thru AAA.

I got a quote on a package thru AAA and it was $200 cheaper and they said if free dining is offered they will add that and it will drop the quote by the current cost of the dining plan.

So I think you can do both as long as you book through AAA.

I've booked through AAA several times and when Free Dining came out...I was not given both discounts. If your AAA TA is giving you both discounts...it's some kind of "pixie dust" as it's against their policy.

Our first year attending Free Dining (2006) I called AAA to book our trip. I asked if I could get free dining and the discount and she said "of course you can! hold on one minute and I'll get you a price quote!!"

I was so excited!

until she came back with the number... which was right down to the penny what Disney had already quoted me

Those who got the discount on top of Free Dining are very lucky!

Last year I was quoted the same as Disney price through AAA. Since I was already on the phone with AAA I went ahead and booked through them. When I went to pay it was $100.00 less.
When I asked about it, my TA said all AAA vacations get $100 off price quoted.

So I saved an extra $100 on an already very cheap vacation. AAA is great!

It happened to me as well in 2006. I did book on the first day free dining was offered so maybe AAA got it wrong or thought that both discounts applied.
