Boston MLS stadium thread

LOL Those were perfect. Is that really accurate of Boston nowdays? Isn't South Boston filled with million dollar homes now days?
Southie might be, but Everett is still solidly working class, I assure you. A few lofts here and there, mostly where the stadium was supposed to go, but otherwise blue collar.

Also, try to stop New Englanders from driving to a sports game. I read the article someone posted above and chuckled at the 75 allocated parking spots.

Foxboro is easier for me to get to than Everett, and I haven't gone to a game yet, so no, it probably wouldn't make me go.

The working class in Everett can afford million dollar homes?

If Boston is anything like the big cities on the West Coast, lower income residents can't afford to live in the city anymore. They are forced to live in distant suburbs where housing costs are much cheaper. The inner-city neighborhoods are way too expensive.

Everett isn’t inner-city Boston. It’s not a neighborhood of Boston and not even in the same county. House prices are still lower on average than in the suburbs where you get bigger lots of land.

Everett is very close to Boston but not connected to any subway or train lines. It’s close to an interstate highway though and other major roads. I used to commute through Everett years before the casino opened. Traffic was horrendous then. I hear it’s worse now.

The casino near the proposed stadium has already discontinued its free shuttle service from area bus and subway stations due to low ridership. It’s less of a hassle to just drive even if traffic is bad. At least people aren’t all trying to get to the casino at the same time, as they would to a sports game.

You can’t really comment on the parking situation at a potential soccer stadium without knowing the infrastructure. I mean, you can, and you did, but it’s not really comparable to West Coast cities.

They have built up a massive shopping area around the stadium https://www.patriot-place.com/

I was there for some sort of Brigham MGH testing about a month ago and was astonished, they have the biggest Trader Joes I have ever been in so far.... it was sad to see the empty Christmas Tree Shops though. To be honest between the everyday shopping and the Bass Pro Shops it could be a nice day out and about on an otherwise nothing to do sort of a day.

It's sort of like all of Assembly Row was collected around the stadium, I like Assembly Row.
