We have used Weymouth coach for the past 5 trips into Logan. For the first three trips, we were very happy with them, the last two trips, their limos had a bad cigarette smell, awful. Also, the driver was very late picking us up at Logan. So we won't be using them again.
Do you have any recommendations? We are about 10 minutes away from the Weymouth area (going south). Thanks.

I've used US Shuttle in the past. It is a van service but reliable and clean.

thanks, where are they located and any idea of their round trip rate to Logan?

I don't know how much. I usually look them up online.

Did you ever think of using Harbor express from the Shipyard?

or Logan express from Braintree?
These are a couple of more solutions!!

We used Harbor express back in 2000 and found it enjoyable. It beat being in traffic on the highway!! we were to the airport in about 20 minutes

SueZ, we have thought of those options, thanks. The Braintree thing is just too many stops for us, we just want to get there. The boat is a great idea, but I worry about the return flight as we'll be getting home after 11:00 pm. By the time we get our luggage, we just wanna hop in a car and go home, you know? Thanks!

Jillpie--let me check with my travel coordinator at work tomorrow and see who she uses to get folks from Logan to our office in Canton.

I do agree with Sue about the boat, it's like starting vacation early. But your late arrival home could throw a wrench into that.

ok Debbie, thanks, that would be great. Canton? I grew up there! In the Ponkapoag neighborhood, down by Crowell's store. Is your office in downtown? We've thought about the boat, but driving down to Hingham adds another 20 minutes more on to the commute, where we could just shoot right into Boston. I know, the boat does sound really nice though...but not sure if it makes sense time wise. Do you park at Logan? I suppose thats another option, but my DH's last resort, we all have been very spoiled getting a ride.

Jill, my office is up 138 from Crowell's heading to Stoughton.

You don't want to drive down to Hingham and get the small commuter boat. You want to drive to the Quincy Shipyard and take Harbor Express from there. They bring you to Logan, and then you need an airport shuttle to get to your terminal. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. If you go out of the Hingham shipyard, you take one boat to Rowe's wharf, and then switch boats to get over to the airport.

I'll check with our travel guru tomorrow.

I can't believe how things have changed on that 138 road now, amazing since I was young.

ok, Quincy sounds a little better, but how complicated is it? Easy to find and it usually takes about 40 minutes by limo from our house to Logan...how much longer would I have to consider to make the changes, ie shuttle etc to actually get to Logan?

Jill,

I tried to PM you, but there is no PM button in your profile. So, I will post most of it here, and email you the car service numbers.

Go to www.harborexpress.com to look at the schedule for the boat. Not hard to find at all. You know the rotary just over the Fore River Bridge, heading to Quincy, you would go 3/4 around that coming from the Weymouth area, and you are there. It's the same parking lot area as the USS Salem Museum.

The boat ride is about 35 minutes or so, you get dropped off by the Hyatt (I think), and one of the Logan shuttles comes and gets you. They run about every 20 mins or so.

I will email you what my co-worker gave me for Car Services:

Have you considered driving in? My DH prefers this so we have our own car when we get home...

We've parked at the airport which is very expensive and also at the Holiday Inn Logan (and stayed overnight when our flight is very early in the morning) with their Park and fly plan for $149 and that includes 10 days of parking. I know that's probably not an option for you, but there's another option similar that I just read about the other day.

It's the Hampton Inn Boston-Logan Airport on Route 1. Their website says they are only 2 miles from the airport. You don't have to stay there to be able to park there and they charge $50 for up to 3 weeks! They have a shuttle to and from the airport. I have not used them yet but I read about them on another thread from someone whose used them several times. IMHO, it's a GREAT deal. I just have to convince my DH of it as he's a creature of habit!:teeth:

Just thought I'd throw out another option for you!

Thank you Debbie and beattyfamily!

Hi, I asked my MIL who's from Weymouth who she used and she just got back to me today.... She used Veterans Livery 781.843.6000 (www.VIPCoach.com). She said it was clean, on time and reasonable.

Jacksmom, thanks! I will check out their rates today. :D

I wonder if you could park there and then stay for a night when you get back?? We have an 8:45 leaving Logan, but we don't get back until 11:00 pm. Would love to just crash for the night and leave for home in the morning. Any ideas??

Just thought I'd throw out another option for you!
