If you have two home resorts, can you borrow points into the next year from one of your home resorts if you still have current UY points left on another contract.
Example: If I have 100pt available at HH but need 130 for a reservation, can I borrow into my next use year so I can reserve the whole ressie at 11months out even if I have current UY points at another resort?

And to add to this, if I want to change out a day or two at 7 months to use up points from my other contract can I do this if the days are available. I believe I remember reading that if I borrowed points for the original ressie, I can't put those back into their original use year.

Thanks for all of everyones help. I learn so much here daily.

If I understand this, you are borrowing from one contract say OKW and want to book HH at 11 months? All the points have to come from the resort which you woould like to book at 11 months. So if you want to book HH, you need to borrow the points from the HH contract. At the 7 months mark you could borrow them from either contract because at that time it doesn't matter.

Yes, you can borrow the following year's points so you can make the entire reservation at 11 months. Doesn't matter if you have existing points from the same UY on another contract.

You are correct. Borrowed points cannot go back to the original UY, nor can banked points. As for switching points at the 7 month window, it would require the cancellation of the existing reservation nights and then re-booking at the 7 month window with the other contract. No problem as long as there is nobody on the waitlist for those nights. Basically it's the same as waiting until the 7 month mark to make those nights' reservation.

If you did switch points, what you would do is ask MS to use your borrowed points on that reservation and return your original use year unused points. That way, depending on when you do this, you can still bank those points and get them into the following UY where you want them.

Before you hang up, confirm with MS that they did what you think they did. I had 11 month ressies that I switched at 7 months, and I assumed that they would cancel the 11 month ressies--they didn't. So, when I called to add the DDP to the 7 month, she asked about the 11 month! They had never been cancelled, so those points ended up in holding:sad2:

This is an excellent point and advice. Any time MS is contacted for any transaction, it is a good idea to review the point status at the end of the call for any affected UYs.

It is also a good practice to go the member web site and confirm everything they've told you. My guess is that this option wasn't available for Cruella when the mix up occurred.
