borrowing someone's car

I don't have a problem lending out my car to friends or even a neighbor if they need it but I would say no to someone at work I barely know! My neighbor uses my van when he needs to take his snowblower in for service- this isthe same neighbor that uses this snowblower to take care of my walkways in the snow.
One time I was driving to Florida and my friend had a SUV while I had a smaller car and she told me to take her SUV and leave her my car since I would have more room in the SUV for the long trip.

I'd just say, "Sorry I'm not comfortable lending my car out."

Especially awkward because your DH isn't really friendly or talks to this guy.

I would do the same thing he did. Just say no.

I had a friend ask my husband and me to cosign her car loan for her 20 years ago. Are you kidding? No way. She was a friend but I wasn't going there. Not sure how eventually cosigned but the car was repossessed a year or so later.

OP again :)

As I replied / updated a few posts ago, DH did say no.

Since then, the guy who asked DH is walking all over the office trying to find a car. So far everyone is also saying no. I actually feel a little sorry for him.

Maybe the hubs (or another coworker) could offer to drive the guy to his appointment? I totally get not turning over the keys to someone, but I agree with you, I feel sorry for him.
