Borrowing restriction removed

Just tried borrowing for our Aulani trip and I’m still getting the 7 dwarfs. Anyone else?

Does this also mean the borrowing glitch (only affected some owners) is a thing of the past?

Is there a way to test this without actually borrowing the points? Like make a booking but not confirm at the very end? Not planning to borrow but I'm curious if I would still get glitched lol
 

SAME. We are screwed forever apparently
Since they clearly are never fixing it I think it is time to start considering a lawsuit. I can only conclude at this point that this is an intentional act by Disney to give booking priority at 11 months to direct owners over resale owners, since they can borrow online and we cannot. They have known about this issue for 2 years now.

No idea, sorry. I've never borrowed anywhere near all of a subsequent use year's points. Maybe @Sandisw knows.

Our contracts are both direct, same Membership and truthfully, I've not encountered any website glitches that didn't affect everyone. I suspect one membership accounts are the least likely to experience website issues and it's one of the reasons, I advise against multip!e memberships for all but the most experienced DVC members who visit the DIS on a fair!y regular basis (to keep up with the ever-changing issues).

If it were intentional, I would think it would affect all resale members, not just some. Like the old saying goes, "Never attribute malice to that which can be more easily explained by incompetence."

I also don't see much upside for them to provide a subtle secret way of giving direct members an edge in booking online. Not really a selling point if people don't know about the edge until they've already bought. I'm sure there are a few super savvy buyers who frequented these boards before buying or whatever, but that percentage would be tiny.

All direct advantages are made clear and obvious by Disney, they basically hit us over the head with them.
 
I already added an extra night to a May trip with my >50% points at 4:15am this morning!!

I cleared cookies and deleted history but I'm still getting the dwarfs... I'm a direct member with both direct and resale points. Trying to borrow from my resale subsidized Aulani. I'll call MS, hopefully they can fix the issue.
 
Wow, you were all over it. I didn't even know about it until almost 9:00. But I added two nights since then.
I’m actually at WDW (BLT) and woke up at 4am - waited a few minutes and then saw that the 50% warning wasn’t there - rebooted and looked again - and the limit message showed but figured - why not - lemme try - and voila - was able to borrow >50%.

Intentional or negligent or basic incompetence doesn’t really matter - the POS clearly states it’s a first come/first served system & IMO the borrowing glitch is depriving some members of what DVC says they are entitled to.
Saw the email this morning, this really helps w/ my planned extended family vacation for 2024, I’ve always wanted to stay in a GV!

Cool, except I was responding to the specific assertion that it was intentional. As to your point, the glitch sucks and they should fix it, but whether it somehow violates our contract or is legally actionable seems a stretch IMO, but IANAL and I don't even try to think like one.
