Borrowing Question

Hello.....I'm so confused!!
My use year is Oct , I have borrowed points and have 10 points left for 2016. When can I borrow points from 2017? I was trying to book for February 2016 and since I only have 10 points left in 2016 UY can I borrow the rest of the points I need from 2017 or does any booking I make that needs to borrow points from 2017 have to be for a stay after Oct 2016?

You can borrow points for a stay at 11 months out. The trip you are borrowing for just needs to be the previous UY to be able to borrow. So Oct 2015 points are good from Oct 1, 2015 until Sept 30, 2016. Your Feb 2016 trip falls in your Oct 2015 UY. You can only borrow points from Oct 2016 (good from Oct 1, 2016 to Sept 30, 2017) for a Feb 2016 trip. If you want to borrow Oct 2017 points, your trip would have to fall in your Oct 2016 UY.

So, you cannot borrow Oct 2017 points for a Feb 2016 trip.

So you borrowed all your 2016 points but 10 and they are still in your 2016 year? (Which run Oct 2016-Sept 2017).

Your Feb 2016 trip falls in your 2015 use year (Oct 2015-Sept 2016).

You could use those 10 points you have for this trip, but that's it. You can't borrow 2017 to use in 2015. As you said, you could only borrow those for a 2016 UY trip.

If you can book it, you can borrow for it.

But then the question is, which year are you in, and which year can you borrow from.

Agree with others. You cannot borrow from your 2017 UY (October 2017 - September 2018) for a trip in February 2016, which is your 2015 UY. You can only borrow ahead one UY. You can't borrow from the 2017 UY unless you book a trip that starts after October 1, 2016. (The date you book is not what matters for banking/borrowing, it's the dates of travel.) But you are SOL for February 2016.
