borrowing question

Just want to be sure which it is and settle bet w/DH...
Points can be borrowed up to 3 years ahead - yes? So when my 2008 UY begins in June can I borrow from '09 and '10 (3 years if you include this year) or from '09, '10 and '11 (3 years ahead).

As I understand it you can only borrow from ONE year ahead. So if you were to bank from 07, and borrow from 09 then you would have 3 years worth of points to use at once. That is probably where you got the three from

As noted, you can only borrow a year ahead. You could make a reservation in 2009 UY and thus borrow from 2010 points to do so but not for the 2008 UY.

You have to look at the use year the date of stay falls into (not the date you make the reservation). If the date of stay falls into your 2008 use year, you can borrow 2009. There is one case where you can borrow 2 years, that is if your dates of stay fall between 2 use years. For example, you have a June use year and the dates of stay are 5/29/08 to 6/3/08. You could borrow 2008 for 5/29 to 5/31 and 2009 for 6/1 to 6/3.

Again, the date you make the reservation has nothing to do with it (your post makes reference to when your use year starts in June).

Thanks everybody - Seems that DH and I were both wrong! I haven't really done much borrowing but now I think I finally get it!
