Definitely!!
I would think almost everyone has banked or borrowed multiple times. Whether you go multiple times each year, or once every other year, I don’t think anyone has the perfect amount of points to match the exact amount for every trip.
A lot of people plan on going every other year, so they can use close to 2 years of points per trip, then you have the next year to bank or borrow from so you don’t waste or come up short ever. This was my plan, but I’m having a hard time not going every year. lol

yes we have borrowed to complete reservations, but if plans change you will need to try to reallocate borrowed points into reservations to be able to not lose any points. But yes that is flexibility with DVC program.

Can you borrow up to two years of points or only one year?

You can only borrow one year - you can bank (if you have any left), use current and borrow and have three years worth of points for one vacation.

I have banked and borrowed. Many times I try to bank a few when I know my adult kids need a few points (two out of my three kids own small contracts).

I'd be okay with 2 years of banking and borrowing! Mostly because I somehow have the self control to be more into banking lol.

But that would increase flexibility quite a bit. Maybe a MMB benefit for future years??

Same. We planned every other year in a 2 bedroom but I had 17 points leftover this year and did a weekend trip in a value studio with the extra points for MNSSHP and I think I’m addicted. Already booked for next year. Oops.

Yep that is one of the major reasons I like banking better. It's more flexible and A lot fewer points are on expiration notice

We have 3 UY, 2 of which hold smaller contracts with specific purposes. We always borrow on those just so we don’t strand any points. Those are trips we don’t plan to take every year so I don’t want to be in a banking situation. Our bigger UY holds many contracts and that one I’m usually banking a couple of points from each because I know we’ll use them every year.
