Borrowing Points

Quick question.

I have a friend who got in touch last night to see if I would book a 1 bedroom at OKW for them. Looking at my points I have 53 from June 2010 and 160 from June 2011. I would need more points to complete this for them. Will I be able to use points from 2012. I wont be using these points due to hopefully passing ROFR on my offer for BWV as this is where we want to stay each year. Thus allowing us to rent out our OKW points each year.

You can only borrow from 1 year ahead I'm afraid. So max points you can ever get access to at one time to spend is 3 years worth of points. Banked points from 1 year previous, your current use year, and then 1 use year ahead.

If you're short by only a very small amount of points you can 'buy' hmm, can't remember exactly - think it's something like 14 points for a one off use in your current year too. Details will be on the DVC member site somewhere.

I'm pretty sure it's up to 25 points in any UY at a cost of $15 per point.

Twice I've borrrowed from another DVC user, each time I paid $10 a point, I used the DVC buy/sell part of the Dis and it was really easy

Thanks jen I was trying to save her a few pounds by giving her my points.

she could if she really wsnts to use r points book the room with as many points as u have and then pay cash for the rest of the stay of move to another resort
lots of free dining out there at the moment

It would depend on when she was wanting to go next year. If it was after your use year (JUNE) then you can bank your 53 points and come June you will have 213 available and you can borrow from 2012 160points. If it was before June next year when she wanted to holiday then you would only have access to the 53 and the 160.
