Let's say I decide to go to WDW in 2010 use year after my Old Key West membership passes ROFR.

So, I make a reservation at Old Key West (my home resort) at the 11 month mark, needing to borrow 8 extra points from 2011 to do the reservation.

Then, at the 7 month mark, I discover there is availability for a value room at Animal Kingdom for 4 less points. If I switch to Animal Kingdom, this means I have 4 extra points that I supposedly can only use in 2010, right?

Or, for the AK reservation, after cancelling Old Key west, do I use the borrowed points first, then my regular points, and then bank the 4 extra regular points to 2011?

Or how does that work?

You would use your borrowed points first, then your regular 2010 points. Any of your 2010 points not needed can then be banked into your 2011 UY. MS will probably set up the reservation in that manner, BUT it never hurts to remind the CM that you need to use your borrowed points first. Good luck!!!

Yes, exactly. Always remind the CM that you want to use borrowed points first. They're pretty good at what they do, but it's much "safer" if you know who you spoke to and that you did remind them to do so.

"Pretty Good" and "Safer" are the key words in DeeCee735's post.

We learned the hard way. Now I double check everything.

People use to post that they would make multiple phone calls just to double check on how their points were allocated.
