We are looking at buying a resale contract. Most likely one with banked points in it. My question is this : If we buy a contract (say hypothetically March use) with 200 banked 2011 points and 200 coming on 3/1/12 and we pay annual dues for the 2012 points, If after closing we want to borrow the 2013 points do we first need to prepay the 2013 annual dues?? So at closing we pay the 2012 dues then later call DVC to borrow the 2013 points to combine with the 2011 and 2012 points we will have to pay them upfront for the 2013 dues or can we just pay them in 2013?

The reason I ask is we own another RCI TS and in order to "deposit" our weeks/points for a future year we first need to pre-pay that future years dues.

Hope this makes sense :)

Thanks!

no - you pay annual dues based on calendar year, not use year. you would not pre-pay to borrow 2013 pts.

if you have additional questions about how use year works, here is a useful thread:
