Borrowing points known issue, any fix?

This is really frustrating I have to borrow only 18 points, I’m outside of my banking window so I can’t borrow and hope to get them back. I’m not planning on going again before June. I can’t buy one time use unless actually making the reservation, and again today with the 50 minute hold the room was gone by the time I got through. The work around is a great idea though!

Why are they even bothering to have the 50% borrowing rule in place. Looking at Apr and May, there is still lots of availability. Let people borrow points and book those rooms up if they want to.
