Borrowing points known issue, any fix?

So this week I ran into this known issue of cannot borrow any points online (7 dwarf page after confirming how many points to borrow).
MS today told me the new rule is that all borrowing has to call in (No resale or direct distinction was mentioned). When I communicated last week I was able to borrow online, she has no available answer.

My questions is has anyone been able to fix their contract/account so they regain the ability to borrow online after running into this issue, and what specific steps should I ask for.
Wondering should I spin the MS roulette or this issue has no known fix...

Contrary to what MS is saying, AFAIK this is not a general issue, it only happens to certain contracts of certain membership (No idea what triggers it)
I was more wondering if there is someone who already had this bug happen, were actually able to get it fixed.

I was able to borrow online once with a resale contract since this the 50% rule, but I had to call in five other times to borrow with the same resale contract and other resale contracts. I haven’t tried to borrow with our direct contracts. It’s really not cool and at this point I think Disney is doing this on purpose although I am not sure why.
 
I was able to borrow online with my resale contract just a few weeks ago, but it was only for 1 point.
 
I can borrow online with my old resale contract but not my new one. What a pain. Would love to know if there is a fix too.
 

I just encountered this issue this morning. I would have tacked it up to typical Disney IT issues until I read this thread. Sure enough I booked just enough days not to borrow points and it went right through. Just for clarity I was attempting to borrow less than 25% of my October 2021 points. I guess Ill have to call in to book the remaining days.

I just not sure I understand how it can work for some people and not others, I can borrow on both memberships, have direct points, resale points bought before the new rule and then after.

I would think that the program should work the same for all. I am so sorry it’s an issue.

Yeah, I don't quite understand either. Especially given the strange explanation from MS (She actually mentioned her own DVC account also has this issue), as it is definitely a known issue.
Could be related to the weekly or manually un-borrowing of points. (For me it happen just after I request a small number of borrowed points to be swept back to original user year)

Or very unlikely, a hidden way to further restrict/inconvenience borrowing for people who has been changing reservation too much. ( I have been excitedly checking different availabilities as a new member. 🤪)

I can confirm it is not because of lots of changes cause I do it all the time!,,😂😂😂😂😂
 
I just became a member last year with my first resale contract. I’ve had this 7 dwarfs borrowing issue since day 1! I have a very small contract, so borrowing was always part of the plan. I had to call in and wait 1 hour to get through to MS to book my first stay. Frustrating to say the least. Especially because I was afraid the availability would be gone by the time I got through to a CM. If there’s a way to fix the issue, please give us a clue!
 
A temporary work around is to figure out a reservation that uses the same amount of points as your real reservation. Call in and borrow to make that reservation. Then at your 11/7 month window, just modify the original to what you actually want. That way you can separate out the MS service call from your time sensitive booking day.

Indeed, I am actually waiting on a call to do just that. :-)
One caution is if the reservation you really wanted never became available, and if the temporary borrow return stopped, then your borrowed points are stuck.

Which appears that the rule to return borrowed points will end April 30th.
 
Now that my own short term booking needs are complete, (stalked 6 days of AKL value studio at end of August. :P) this issue is less irritating for me personally.
Hope they can fix it after April 30th. (Assuming it is related to how borrowed points are returned in the system)

This happened to me today after a 70 minute wait then a 90 minute wait. The 70 minute wait guy wouldn’t cancel my one night and rebook because he was nervous I would loose my Saturday night. So I got off the phone separated my reservation the called back in and the 1 bedroom was taken while I was on hold. We added 4 more people last minute for a Vero beach stay so I’ve been stalking for availability. Hoping to get a 1 bedroom for privacy and a kitchen instead of the ocean view inn room.

Just remember to cancel the workaround reservation before 4/30 to return borrowed points if stalking did not get what you want.
