borrowing points for AkV Stat

I wonder if you buy points for AKV and are now allowed to book at the AKV lodge starting May 16th Can you use 2007 and 2008 points or only current year for a reservation after Sept 1st. I have a small contract that I plan to use for a couple of nights in Dec. Can I use the 2007 and 2008 allotment ot are we limited to 2007 points only. I'm also alittle confused on the developers points being shut out from reserving a room at AKL. If I paid full price not the developers price than I can reserve room on May 16TH, Am I correct?? It is a little confusing to me. Joan

The developers points are given to those who pay full price for AKV so they have some points they can use between now and when AKV opens. Those points cannot be used at AKV -- they expire in 7 months, when AKV opens. Once AKV is open, everyone can start using their AKV points. So the developer's points just provide you with something you can use in the meantime.

Starting May 16th, every AKV owner (whether they paid full price or the discounted price) can use their AKV points to book at AKV for stays in September or later.

So if you opt to pay full price, you are paying $8/point for a full set of these special "developer's points" that you can use over the next 7 months for stays at any DVC resort. If you don't need any extra points to use over the next 7 months, you can opt for an $8/pt discount.
