Borrowing points between 2 different resorts

If you have 2 contracts at 2 different resorts but have the same use year are you able to borrow from one to the other and make reservations at the 11 month mark. Example: 1 contract at BCV and 1 at BLT use year is August, want to stay at the beach club but dont have enough points would like to borrow from BLT and make the reservations at the 11 month mark. Is this possible?

BCV pts are BCV pts whether they are banked, current, borrowed or transferred.

BCV pts can be used to book BCV at 11 months out and other DVC resorts at 7 months out.

under no circumstances would BCV pts become BLT pts or vice-versa.

it's really that simple.

let's say you have 50 BLT pts and 160 BCV pts.

you might bank 160 BCV pts in 2010, so to book a stay at BCV in 2011 at 11 months out you would have 160 banked BCV pts+160 current (2011) BCV pts + 160 borrowed BCV pts for a total of up to 480 BCV pts.

if you need more BCV pts, you could have another BCV owner transfer BCV pts to you. you are allowed one transfer per year (either in or out, but not both.)

but your 50 BLT pts can only be used to book BLT at 11 months out. whether you bank them, borrow them or transfer BLT pts in from another owner, they can only be used to book BCV at 7 months out.

some owners do alternate years, though...so they might go for a short stay at BLT for 100 pts (50 banked BLT + 50 current BLT) and book BLT at 11 months out for 2011. and then go for a longer stay at BCV with 320 pts (160 banked BCV + 160 current BCV) to book BCV at 11 months for a stay in 2012...

Points from different home resorts cannot be combined until the 7 month point. As other have stated, one can bank and borrow to complete a reservation if need be. But you'd be banking and/or borrowing points from the same resort in order to make a reservation at the 11 month point.
