Borrowing Points and Canceling ?

Dh has decided that he would like to go to WDW in Aug.

Question: I would have to borrow my 06 points for the trip (Sept UY). If for some reason we have to cancel the trip, what happens to the points? I don't want to loose them.

I would plan to use them in April 07 if we had to cancel. Thanks!

I believe they get locked into the year borrowed. I think you need to do this with the intent of not cancelling. In your case you would only have until September to use the borrowed points if you cancel and I think you can not bank them if borrowed also.

Your Use Year runs from September until the end of August.

If you borrow points from your September, 2006 Use Year for a trip in August, 2006- they will become part of your 2005 points. If you cancel the reservation made using those points, they must be used by August 31, 2006 and they cannot be banked. I'd make sure you won't need to cancel before borrowing points for a trip this close to the end of your Use Year.

You would have until Aug 31, 2006 to use the points you borrowed from Sept 2006. So if you borrow them, you would have to use them for that trip or lose them.
