Borrowing of points

Sorry to bother everyone, I should know the answer but I am drawing a blank. I am considering a trip back home using our DVC but there is a chance we will not be taking that trip this year. If we do go I would beed to borrow about 55 points from our 2013 use year and use our remaining points for this use year. If I book this and in the next week or so we decide not to take this vacation, which will be in August, what will happen to my points?

When you borrow points they become the UY that you borrowed them into and they can not be banked. They will expire at the end of the UY if not used.

If you want to make the reservation, make as many nights at you can with the current year points without borrowing. Then if you decide to go, borrow the points for the extra nights. Depending on how long you wait, you may not have as much availability, but you'd at least have the few nights you can already get. And if you have to cancel, try to do that before your banking deadline so you can cancel and bank the points (just cancel before 31 days out).
