Hi all-
I have never banked or borrowed before.
I have a December use year.
I just banked my 2023 points into my 2024 use year to avoid the banking deadline.
I want to plan an April 2025 Aulani trip.
Even with banking 2023 & having full 2024 points, I may be a bit shy of what I need for this Aulani trip.
I would like to book this trip in September 2024, 2 months from now (my soonest available booking date).
Am I correct in assuming I will not be able to borrow my 2025 use year points this September (24) because I am not yet in my 2024 use year?
^ if yes, I will potentially risk losing the reservation I want by having to wait 3 months to borrow.
^^& if that is the case, any suggestions? or "it is what it is"

follow up question- is the date of travel taken into consideration when borrowing? Since I am planning an April trip that occurs during my 2024 use year, am i able to borrow from my 2025 use year even though I am booking DURING my 2023 use year?

Everything depends on the date of the trip, not on when you book it.

An April 2025 trip is in your 2024 UY, as you know. So in September 2024 when you book it, you can use the 2023 points you already banked into 2024; the 2024 points; and you'll be able to borrow exactly the number of points you need from your December 2025 UY while you're in the process of making the reservation.
