Hi.
I currently have a full 8 night reservation for September, with points BORROWED from my next UY.
I would like to waitlist at another resort, which would be more points (that I have available in my next UY). The first two nights of my stay are not available so I have to waitlist the full 8 days, which I think will be next to impossible to get, instead of a day or two in the mix.

I am currently staying at the BW, Pool/Garden view September 7-15 and I waitlisted both BW-Boardwalk View (I have stayed before and prefer to look at the BW and people watch) and GF Standard View. Both of these resorts do not have the first two nights available.

Is there any good chance or not really doing a full week waitlist.

MY BIG QUESTION:
If tomorrow, February 9 for September 9, one of the above becomes available with just the Friday and Saturday not having availability, should I cancel my BW pool/garden view with my borrowed points and then book the 6 full nights of GF or BW with BW view and then just wait list each of the two days, September 7 and September 8 separately and then stalk?

Thank you.

Yes, you can waitlist the full 8 nights. You would set it up to replace your existing reservation and to borrow any additional points required.

If you're willing to risk a split stay then if the 6 nights were available and you could book those and waitlist just the 2 nights that will give a better chance of the waitlist filling. But it also may not and then you'd have to move after the first 2 nights.

From the Home Resort Rules and Regulations on "Wait Lists"
All requests must represent the entire length of time desired in the requested Vacation Home type. Wait List requests must be for consecutive days of a stay and may not be submitted as multiple or “night-by-night” requests.

You won't be able to have two wait lists for the consecutive nights for the exact same BWV pool/garden view for the same room type. You would need to have one WL for those two nights in the same room type and view. But you could still stalk. You could also add a second wait list for another resort for those two nights or another room type at BWV. e.g. one wait list is for a 1BR and the other is for a studio. You cannot have a wait for one night and a second wait list for the second night.

I understand that is what the R&R states. But what happens in actual practice? You can only have 2 waitlists active so I'm not sure it is being enforced separately.

You will be able to waitlist the individual nights. That's risky though for ending up with the first night coming thru and the second night not and having to move out and back. If I got the 6 nights I'd set up one waitlist for the entire 2 nights to switch and then the 2nd night on it's own. If that fills then cancel the 2 night waitlist and change it to just the first night. Set up the 2 nights first because the waitlist is supposed to check by time made and if both nights opened up you'd want that to fill vs just the 1 night and then trying to get that first night again.

Thank you. Now at Beach Club, the first three nights are not available but the remaining 5 nights are available together.
I'm thinking about canceling my BW with Pool/Garden View and booking the BC with the 5 nights and waitlisting the second and third night.
I am fairly confident that for a trip from September 7-15, I will not be left homeless and I do not want at all to do a split stay, but I think I would be
able to find a full ressie at SSR or OKW if I couldn't get above. Do you agree.
