Hi, What I want to do is book 6 night at BCV(our home resort) for March 2010 for 6 nights. It will cost 285 points. I have 78 points from 2009. 160 points in Feb 2010. I need(doing the math) 47 points to book. I know I can use my 2009 points by banking them and using them in 2010. The question I guess is if I book a reservation today for 2010 do I technically "borrow" 2010 points or since the reservation is in 2010 they reserve it knowing you will have the points and not really formally borrow the points Can I "borrow" 2011 points today for a reservation that is in 2010? I know I can't borrow 2011 points to use in 2009, but I can in 2010. So, when can I reserve using 2011 points?:confused3

Thanks for any help. Trying to reserve our reservation while early in our booking window. I hope my question makes sense.

The points are actually already in your account for the next 40-50 years, up until the expiration of your contract. So you can go ahead and borrow from 2011 for your 2010 trip if you don't want to used banked 2009 points.

When making a reservation, you look at the use year the stay is in, not when you make the reservation. With a February use year (2/1 to 1/31), a March 2010 stay would be in your 2010 use year. 2010 would be considered current year for this stay. So you can use banked 2009, current 2010, borrowed 2011. You can call now for your home resort using all these points. Remember banking and borrowing are final transactions, points will remain in the 2010 use year.
