Borrowed points, I hate Fri/Sat points

Okay, booked a last minute trip yesterday for the 4th July Friday to Thursday.

Should have thought this through better........
ONLY resort with all nights was SSR. No problem we've stayed there and like the studio set up better than OKW although OKW is our fav.

Just thinking about using points for Fri Sat, that's 58 points, What am I crazy, had to borrow the points from Dec 2005.

We could pay cash anywhere onsite and get a 1 bedroom for the other 4 nights at OKW for less points, yes we are putting $ out of pocket and have to switch, but we could have a 1 bed for most of our stay.
4 nights 1 bed OKW 88pts
6 nights studio at SSR 110

or That difference could go towards Oct trip to get an extra night.
Or maybe we need more points

BTW, when we decided to add a Friday and Saturday night in October, we ended up at SSR too for more points! I didn't mind though, because it gave me a chance to check out what it's like to stay there.

hey I release a studio at OKW last week - I guess it is already gone....

I just had Sun-thursday - July 3 - 8

Well I just called CRO and reserved a room at Port Orleans French Quarter @ AP rate of $109 plus tax for Fri $ Sat

I will call MS tomorrow and see what 1 bed are avail. And we are checking out on Thur so it's only 3 nights but it'll be in a 1 bed I hope.

Oct trip can use some of these points for room upgrade.

We are excited to stay somewhere we have never stayed. Pixie dust MS has our 1 bed avail tomorrow.

WE are all set to go!
2 nights, Fri/Sat at POFQ
3 nights in a 1 bed at OKW, (actually had to waitlist for Sun) not too worried about the 1 night
4 nights in a 1 bed at OKW in Oct.

And our balance in our Dec 2005 is...............2pts

I never thought we would borrow this much. The AP's we bought last October have defintely burnt a hole in our pocket of points

1 trip in a studio, 1 trip 2 bed, and 2 trips in a 1 bed all in one year.

We'll take a year off I think!

Good luck with that one!!! I have been smacking my hand for over a month now to not call my guide to do the add-on special. I did break down and call once, and my guide was on a cruise (as I SWEAR he always is - he should just do cruises and release the rest of us to other guides) and not ONE OTHER GUIDE was in the office!!! They were all out doing tours! Saved by some other suckeeeeee ...some other lovely person who will soon have the bug no doubt!!!

We are in an "off year" right now, and it is killing me! We had 3 trips to WDW totaling 28 days last year. We got home from the last one December 10, and we aren't going back until December 31! It seems like a LOOOOOONG year! Oh well, we will get our new APs in Dec. and take 3 trips next year!

Got our confirmation in the mail yesterday the Sunday we had to waitlist for was included on it!!!
That was a long waitlist!!!!

Knowing we have two more trips this year is great!
Knowing that they are in a 1 bedroom is even better.

Now the fact that we have a whopping 2 pts in our Dec 2005 UY.

Us too! Found out 2 weeks ago that our 2 oldest children were eligible to participate in a karate competition July 8th & 9th. Booked a 2 BR OKW from July 3rd to 10th. Hot, Crowded and WEEKEND POINTS, asked if there was a member cash discount available and there was. Paid cash for both weekend nights, around $750ish. Rented the 'saved' points out instead and came out almost $700.00 ahead! Point I'm trying to make, is call MS and see if cash discount weekend is available.

using points on weekends all depends on if you dont want to waste time moving, you have points that have to be used or you own a huge amount of points an using on the weekends you wont even miss them.

we were going back "Home" 3 times a year, this year we had to pay cash for our easter trip dvc was booked in all their resorts.
this year we will only be taking 2 trips, Easter (already done) & New Years on the Disney Magic cruise. whoops, it looks like we paid cash for this year trips, now we can bank our points and maybe go 4 times next year
as you can see before i take a whole year off, i would pay cash for the entire trip, whether i have the points or not and when there is no available dvc rooms on points. and by the way its just crazy to use points for a disney cruise unless you have them to burn you are better off renting your points and paying cash.....maybe ill rent some points
