Camping at Disney World ...Explore the offerings of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Camping and cabins, all manner of outdoor activities, and Disney classic attractions like Chip 'n' Dale's nightly campfire program and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review are all discussed in this forum.

To me this means discussing things related to actually camping at FW and not things generally RV related or things like state park camping in Fl.

Camping Community Board ... Come on in and enjoy our virtual campfire, discuss most any topic in a friendly and respectful manner.

Again and just IMHO this is the no holds barred threads that should cover the otters, beer, etc. threads like Born2Fish's Convince me BS thread.

All I'm trying to stress is some folks actually use the search feature and they can get a lot of garbage in the search function with folks mixing up actual real information or at least opinions and some of the chit-chat that often drive real threads off into the weeds. I was here when the community board was formed and it was for the chit-chat type posts, but those still exist IMHO in the actual camping forum and that IMHO is a shame.

Bash away since I can take it and it still won't change my honest opinions as stated above.

Larry

While I come on here at times for honest information, I mostly come on for some fun and "friendship" of people who have the same interests as I do...camping, FW, dogs, Disney, etc. I can get that in a lot of ways. One thing that starts out answering a question morphs into something else entirely and I like that. Some questions are asked over and over again and if you are on here long enough you might get a little tired of seeing it, but it's fun to keep reading and watch the question get answered and then turn into something silly. I don't care if someone talks about a campsite in GA or NH they love. Maybe some day I can use that info. I work really hard and don't have a lot of spare time, so if I get on for 15 minutes ever couple days I want something fun to read and respond to. IMO.

Somebody needs a nap. And I see that this thread was erroneously posted originally on the regular FW forum and had to be moved to the Community forum. Looks like even Larry has trouble deciding where something belongs.

As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I think most of us think that the camping boards aren't broken. No bashing, just "my honest opinion"...I like the camping boards just the way they are and hope they never change.

You seem to complain more about what people post on here and on the RV net forums you seem to disagree with most post on there. What gives? This is not the the Disboard according to larryJ. There are way to many more important thing in life than what someone post on the internet. Relax and enjoy life.

I think people are getting the information they ask for on the main board. So what if there's some fun and whimsy thrown in? Wow! Larry, you need to learn to relax a little, IMO. It's CAMPING! It's a discussion board. No need to be so uptight. When camping becomes a job and, apparently, very stressful....it may be time to re-think your vacation choices. Just MHO...

I think he makes a valid point. Information about other campgrounds and general RV stuff should be posted in the camping community forum. It just makes sense.

However, the otters, beer, etc., might fall under the "all manner of outdoor activities" description in the FW forum. :confused3

Hotdogs, apple pie, lemonade and the Fort...
All American Baby !!

Since we're givig honest opinions...

IMHO, no one makes you visit here. If it's that irritating, perhaps a sabbatical from the boards is overdue? I'm sure that there are plenty of other camping boards floating around.

Ever thought about starting your own message board? There are plenty of free sites out there. As admin, you could ensure that no pesky thread is posted in the wrong forum...although I didn't miss the irony that you posted this in the incorrect forum...

OP, I directed a legitimate question to you on another thread but you never came back to reply...so one of the more UNhelpful fiends came to my aid.

When I saw this thread I thought "Hmmmm..... Maybe there will be something informative here." Nope, just another rant about the UNhelpfulness of others. :confused3

ETA: Not trying to be mean, just wondering why.

BTW, what does Fwiw mean?

For What It's Worth.

So, FWIW, I'm going to continue having fun on this board & joking around with my Fiends and the newbies. IMHO I believe I've posted lots and lots of useful info while having fun. You just never know when a newbie is a Fiend in the making!

:lmao: I should have known that, but from seeing some of OP's previous posts lately I was a little dazed and confused. (ETA) I thought it was going to be Fort Wilderness Information....and didn't know what the last W was for. Haha.

IMHO, you and countless others have posted more than your fair share of HELPful info, but that's JMO. (Just found it interesting that the one who complains incessantly about the lack of informative posts hasn't provided any...as far as I can see.) IMO ;) Oh, well.

FWIW, I too will carry on in true Camping Board Fort Fiend fashion.

.

God forbid he used the word convince in his thread...:rotfl2:

Kinda reminds me of a story about a man that goes to the same restaurant daily and complains about the food and service, all the while walking by many other places on his way there every day.

All Rock Stars do.

Now someone convince me not to grill burgers and go swimming today.

Looks like somebody lost his Little Orphan Annie decoder ring.
