To you and Albertan Mom, I can only say Amen! To God be the glory! We have a powerful prayer group and it works!!!!! A lot of miracles, so keep praying!

Thanks! I just gotta get that prayer cover going over our church. We opened the door for the devil to come in when we were without a pastor for a year and a half (yet if I tell my church that, they would think I was crazy). It's been slowly going down hill from there. There is a lack of faith, anger, worry, doubt, sabotage, manipulation and a lot of other garbage going aound. God laid it on my heart to start one and I got the distinct feeling that if we don't, our church will fall.

It also doesn't help that there is a new age store next to our church. DH just recently got a word of knowledge that we need to pray for the owner of the store. So there is some hindering coming from there as well.

I've started the prayer cover with two places so far - my nephews AoG church in VA and Kenneth Copeland Ministries. It's a start!

That is a great song, and the pictures were great too.
Gave me chills!!

Wouldn't it be nice if all of America (and Canada!) did still trust in God. If everyone did obey his commandments, and live by His word, how nice the world would be!!:goodvibes

hi.I just found this thread.

The short version of my story is I always believed in God and loved God but I never really knew Him.My mom was raised mormon but forgets most of the mormon beliefs. She didnt take us to church often since she hated church as a kid.But she still considers herself mormon and being mormon is important to her..She never owned a Bible. She is also into things like mediums. My dad doesnt believe in God.

I grew up with my moms beliefs, considering myself mormon but not knowing what all the mormon beliefs are..When I was a teenager I bought myself a Bible. When I was in my 20's God finally got my attention.I left the mormon church(I could write pages and pages about that but I'll keep this short)

I'll write more later,I have to get ready to go to my mother in laws for brunch.

New to the thread but I have a favor to ask, could you all say a pray for me and ask the Lord to give me strength? We're going through some tough times financially which is leading to marital stress and I'm barely hanging on here. Im feeling really overwhelmed. Thank you and God bless. :goodvibes

Prayers said.
We've been in the same boat...

KristinBelle: Welcome:grouphug:

Join the club! We have been too ever since we came back from our Disney trip last Novemeber.

But you know what has been keeping us going? Our faith and knowing that God will provide everything we need. I look at our situation as temporary. Seeing our finances the way they are is not making me panic and worry anymore b/c I know that God has everything under control. I'm not letting the devil in to take away God's blessing.

DH's boss had just left the university where they worked for a higher position at another university. DH was called into the Director's office and was told that he will be the Acting Head of Systems effective 1/29 with an increase in his salary. This was a total shock to DH and we know that God has already started to provide a way for us to be debt free. We have been thanking him for this blessing. DH will also be officially applying for the position as well.

The one passage that God was giving us is "Do Not Worry" which can be found in both Matthew 6:25-33 and Luke 12:22-34.

Subscribing!

I hope to be able to participate in this thread! I am a Christian from Tennessee! God Bless!

Welcome nannerbadnanner! It is good to see this thread appearing again.
many of us are going through one kind of test or another; but this is 2007 and a year of Jubilee and restoration. The enemy knows how short his time is and is going all out to cause as much trouble as he can. Greater is He that is in us then He that is in the world. God has promised this year to be one of growth, many of us will see things come to pass for which we have long believed and I believe many doors which were closed to us in the past will be
opened. Prayer is a powerful force against the enemy and escpecially when done in large groups. Let us continue to lift up one another and see the miraculous things our God will do. I am happy to report that my boss had
completed his treatment for lymphomic cancer and will be returning to work shortly. Thanks to all of you who lifted him up.

Just popping in to say a big thanks to all of the kind Christians on here who have been praying for Eddad..We may not be Christians but we appreciate all prayers and Ed even has a rosary attached to one of his IV poles..

I have not read all 150 pages plus of this thread but I would like to put my thoughts.

I am not a 'Born Again' Christian, however I am a Christian, was brought up in a Christian household, we used to have the keys for the Church, used to clean the Church, polish the Brass put out the chairs ring the bell, when older I read from the Bible and helped at Holiday Clubs for children.

My Father is commemorated in the donation of a lecturn from which the reading are made. At Christmas we did not open our presents until we had been to Church.

I am confirmed as is my wife and my Children are baptised.

I prefer traditional forms of service and recognisable hymns as I was tought how to sing at Church school and was in the Choir of two Churches even earning a shilling by singing the tunes of new Choruses to our organist who only played by ear.

I have not had a 'Road to Damascus' revelation and sometimes feel I am looked down upon as a poor Christian by those who have after coming to Christ later in life.

Sounds like Ken Copeland :) He calls this the Year of the Open Door as well. One of the doors has already opened for my DH and we are so blessed :)
I've also heard 2007 as being the Year of Acceleration (from Kim Clement). And I have been seeing results (aka blessings) of both.

Andy B, welcome! Don't worry, I haven't even read all 150 pages either. It would take me all day (and then some) to catch up :rotfl: !

Born Again is a term used for those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. If you have opened your heart and have accepted Him, then you are born again.

I haven't read A Road to Damascus either, so you are not alone there :)

I'm sorry that you feel looked down upon by other Christians. Some Christians will act that way without realizing it (I'm even guilty of doing that on occassion ) and others do it with such a :snooty: attitude and not acting in Love the way Jesus commanded us to be. What they may not realize is that all of us are at different spiritual levels in our walk with God. Some are still on spiritual milk and others are on spiritual meat, as the Apostle Paul talked about. The only thing that we can do as Christians, is to pray for those that act that way.

My spiritual level (walk with God) is much higher (or further along) than most of those in the congregation of my church. There are those in my church (we're Lutheran) that will look down upon me if I talk about anything other than "Lutheranism". I had felt that :snooty: attitude towards me when I had done a 12 week women's Bible study back in 2005. At first I was a bit miffed, but now, I'm praying for them and our whole congregation, and asking God to open their hearts and to guide them.

I can't change a person's attitude, but God can from the inside. I've recently have seen the results of that. One of our church council members was having a very rough time and was on edge. I've been praying for him asking for God to open his heart and to guide him. On Monday, I was talking to my pastor and he told me about the change that suddenly has come over this council member. It was a complete turn-around! I was  to hear that my prayers worked that fast and I have been thanking God for the change he had done in this person.

Im so sorry that you have felt looked down on. I know how you feel.I've had Christians look down on me because I was raised mormon.I used to go on this Christian message board but I stopped because there was this one Christian who really looked down on me because of my mormon past.
