Thank you for your prayers Saxsoon and Luv. DH decided to go one floor up to the E.R. yesterday at work because his chest pain was that bad. He found out that it was bronchitis in the beginning but now it's gone. The only thing left is his asthma. But he did pull a chest muscle due to all the coughing he has been doing. Doctors gave him two different meds (one is Viacadin) which he took last night. They are starting to help but he can't lift anything heavy until it heals. Just getting up off a chair of trying to lay down in bed was difficult for him.

I did have the urge to lay my hand on his chest last evening and felt the Holy Spirit working as did DH. The Lord sure helped him yesterday and he felt better. He went to his weekly Bible Study this morning then afterwards decided not to go into work and just go home and rest.

Glad to hear it was "only" bronchitis.
I know the real pain that can come from excessive coughing.
It feels like your ribs are broken,
and in the meantime someone's been kicking your back!
Hope and pray he's up and around soon :)

So am I :) He went back to work today feeling a little better. His coughing is starting to subside but still hurts his chest muscles, just not as bad.

I almost bought it. Worth the buy?

Yes, probably one of the best books I've ever read. I just finished it a few days ago and already want to reread it. I've also read The Face of God
also by Bill Meyers. VERY good read, too. I'm going to stop at the used book store today to see if I can find any of his other books.

Anybody ever used a Bible-in-a-year? I've never read the entire Bible all the way through (I've tried... got bogged down in Job, and then in Isaiah). I'll look for one of those at the used book store, too.

My hubby has listened to the whole Bible. Did you ever try that? He just downloaded it to his iPod. He does that with all kinds of books. But I know the Bible can be a bit overwhelming to try to read. Listening to it is another option!!:thumbsup2

I just about did it and have two OT books left to fully read. I started With Ruth (I had already read the first 4 books previously) in the summer of 2005 and finished most of the Bible by this past summer. I just need to read Joshua and Judges.

Reading Psalms and Proverbs was a bit difficult for me to read. Psalms b/c of the length and Proverbs b/c I didn't quite understand it at first.

I tried listening to it as opposed to reading it.

Listening to the Bible on CD sounds like poetry to me, but I found I am unable to internalize it.

When I read it, I actually have to take notes on it to be able to internalize and remember what I'm reading.

Just reading it without notetaking ends up having the same effect as listening only...I don't remember what I read.

I've been prayed over many times. On three occastions when my DH was praying over me in the Holy Spirit, he has talked about my "calling". We don't know what it is yet and I have been praying about it off and on for about a month. Haven't "heard" anything on it until today.

Yesterday in the mail was our monthly BVOV magazine (Believer's Voice of Victory) from KCM (Ken Copeland Ministries). I started reading it today, and as usual, pieces of my puzzle are starting to come together. The first article is titled "The Garden of Eden in You" which talks about the Blessing. The line I read says, "...The Blessing encompasses your identity, your capacity and your call" (emphasis mine). The other reference was a few pages after and says, "The devil will not be able to close the door on what you're called to do in 2007 - The Year of the Open Door!"

Any time I am going through something (trial, tribulation, etc), God always uses KCM, more so than any other ministry, to answer a prayer or just to give me re-assurance. Isn't our Lord an Awsome God?!

I did it once before & have been wanting to do it again. So, DW & I are reading it through together. We started on 1/1 with Genesis & Romans. We got a plan from http://www.backtothebible.org/devotions/readme.htm?level=blended

It gives you a new perspective when you read it all the way through.

Hi everyone...been a long time since I visited and I'm happy to see a bunch of new names on this board. I hope you all are doing well. I just have a quick question...
has anyone here ever been to a "weekend to remember marriage conference"? My dh and I are going in February and I was just curious as to what to expect...
TIA
God blessings to you all!
Deb

It is a sad commentary when you have to qualify this thread with the remark "no bashing please!". It is a world turned upside down.

Haven't been to that yet. DH and I were going to promote it in our church a few years ago, but never got around to doing it.

We did, however, do one of the other conferences that they have called "Rekindle the Romance" back in 2003. It was a real eye opener for DH and I. Haven't seen that one on their website since then.

So...did it "rekindle the romance"?
I am really looking forward to this conference. God has been preparing me via a book called "Every Woman's Marriage". It's one of those kind of books that you read, not necessarily liking everything you read, but definitely realizing that it is exactly what you need to read. ::yes::

Actually it did. There were a few skits done by a husband and wife team which had a two-fold effect on those attending. On one hand there were a lot of people laughing at the situation being dramatized. While at the same time other people were either quiet or (like me) crying because the skit hit home. There was one skit that was done that had my crying b/c it was how I was treating DH without realizing it.

Our church is doing a Love and Respect video conference next weekend that we will be attending. It's followed by a renewal of vows and a luncheon afterwards. We're looking forward to it.

Hope everyone is doing well!
I have Praise!
My little brother, who is 20 has been doing drugs for a few years. We started praying hard for him last month as a family. My mom called the other day and said he out of the blue decided to quit! He has been clean for 6 days now, so yay!!! We are praying that he will continue to be strong and not give into the temptation.
Prayer is powerful!! :goodvibes

Congratulations.

Two men that help out with the youth group at my church were into drugs big time when they were young. When the came to Christ, they eventually stopped, and have been clean ever since.

Praise God! Thank you Lord Jesus! That is wonderful news :)

Yes prayer is powerful. I will be talking to my pastor hopefully today about starting a prayer group at our church. A few people I have talked to love the idea and are willing to participate in it. Our church is going through it's own spirtual battle right now and I have been praying not only for our church as a building but for the congregation as well as our pastor. And I won't give up!

To you and Albertan Mom, I can only say Amen! To God be the glory! We have a powerful prayer group and it works!!!!! A lot of miracles, so keep praying!
