boring?

I think we are all responsible for creating our own magic in VMK. Yes, staff needs to help by creating the games for us to play, and making new things for us to buy. As far as entertainment value goes, I really think we need to entertain ourselves. VMK does not pick and choose who we make friends with, we do. Friends is the most important part of this experienece in my eyes. Interacting with these friends is a very important part of the game. It is not all about who is the richest, or the most popular. If it is, then you are playing for the wrong reasons. In real life, do you expect your parents to entertain you every minute of the day? - No! You and your real life friends do things to have fun. It should be the same in VMK.

If you are bored, do something about it. If you have a favorite game to play, spice it up a little by having a competition with your friends in the game. Get silly, and create some fun - have a parade down Main St, go to Central Plaza and sing to the other players there, do a quest, etc. Use the search button and go to rooms that belong to people that are not on your friend list. Meeting new people is always interesting. Sometimes things do tend to get stale if you do the same thing all the time. My point is, try something different. Go out and make your own fun. If you sit back and wait for the fun to come to you, you will miss it.

If that does not help, cut back on the amount of time that you play. Nobody is forcing you to sign on and stay on all day. Instead of complaining about it, think of things that VMK could do to enhance your enjoyment of the game and send them in via the contact us button. They can't fix it if they don't know it is broken ;).

II have been away from vmk for three quaters of a year. I go on every once in a while to get on for a friend or two. I get on about once every month or so for about 5-10 minutes. On average. I don't miss it at all and consider getting on the game a chore now lol.

;)

Your words... I did not know it was an exagaeration, I mean in one paragraph you restated THREE times how rarely you get on..... and I stand by my comments...

I may have exaggerated with the amount I visit vmk, but I do go on to keep up with my CL status. If I was no longer a community leader, I would no longer play at all. I do have other ways to talk to my friends. I can say with great happiness and with a warm heart that many people have come to me thanking me for helping them in the game. I value my status and I uphold the responsibilty. I have no problem resigning as a CL and in time, I will. The time I never enter the kindgom will be the time I resign. I have many times thought about doing that, but feel that it is my obligation to keep up since I once sent in the application.

I wasn't meaning to "bash" vmk. I was simply stating that it lost it's magic for me. I think it's a fair comment and I have many many times expressed ways I think vmk can be improved, I was merely agreeing with the OP.

I have always been one to express my opinion on a matter and so I did.

I thought I was being very civil in my posts...:confused3 I didn't think it was a cause to be told I should not be a CL. :(

This is not meant as a bash but if you "only going on to keep your CL status" Then how effective of a CL can you be?

VMK is alright if you dont have anything better to do , they need to think of something that is unpredictable :\

im really starting to find vmk quite boring! many of my freinds feel the same way.... is it me or is vmk just losing it's touch?

I wouldnt say boring, I would say frustrating. Because of the high cost of items, I play pirates constantly, and it never seems to play the same way day to day. Most times the lag is horrible or your boat gets hung up right away. I dont remember the old pirates ever being like this.

And making rooms has lost its zip. Put the items down nah looks bad, and have to pick them all up one by one and start over.

Oh well. Love it or leave it right?

I'm pretty sure not all of the CL applicants would like to be a leader for the wrong reasons. I want to believe there are people out there that would be good CL's AND can spend more time on VMK than the CL Veterans. Spending a couple of minutes a week or a month permanently unfortunately is not enough. Sometimes we need to give way to newer peeps. This is just my 2 cents...

I have a question... If more CL's resign or their title is taken away, do they have to fill those positions?

Now going back into topic: I May not be as enthusiastic as my 1st day, but I feel I still love VMK. And YES I agree, friends are the most important factor to make the VMK experience the best it can be.
On the rare occasions that I do feel... blah... what do I do? Log out. It wont take me long to miss it. Usually it is the next day LOL.

Your words... I did not know it was an exagaeration, I mean in one paragraph you restated THREE times how rarely you get on..... and I stand by my comments...

I may have over stated myself in trying to describe my opinion of the game. I had no idea at the moment I posted what I did, that it would turn to be an argument about my community leader status...I promise you I am not a horrible leader. I do the job well. And I do appologize for posting on the thread. I will try to keep all my opinions to myself from now on. ;) :goodvibes

A board to put my pins on so I can enjoy what I have collected and others can see too. What is the point of collecdtion almost two years of pins that you can not see except in an closed window.

How about a better way to choose clothes instead of constanly clicking next to you get to that right hat. After almost two years this is getting to be a long procedure. And a closet.

I fully agree with these options. Along with letting us organize our pins on the lanyard without it changing when we leave the room so all food pins are together, or all JC pins, etc. The clothes should be as easy to change as our pins.

I am not as excited about it since VMK pass made it nearly impossible to get into a host room if you're not on right when it opens, quests got switched to Sunday AM, and the fireworks I had finally mastered enough to get great credits I can no longer even get a bronze pin (not to mention magic) and even if I could get gold the credits wouldn't be as good.
But I am one who plays too much. And I do love playing with some of the friends I've made here/there. :grouphug:

Ok, there is no reason why we should be ragging on cat. This is a game people! Why do we need to say things like "hey you should quit being a CL_ so someone else can be" to front over a game? Are we really that petty? That we need to hurt someone's feelings over a game? With all the so called "non-magic" people running around VMK, you all know more than I that one of those people could very well take front's place as a CL and make VMK that one percent more boring/non-fun. Even if she only got on once a year, I don't think it's anyone else's bussiness anyway.

But anyways, back on topic, though I agree with many of the previous statements, complaining about it doesn't fix the problem. Saying and stating what is wrong with something does not fix what the problem is. If you think VMK is boring, then i guess you can do one of three things. One, you can put up with the boringness and complain all the time. Two, you can continue to play, but make suggestions and ways to help make VMK more fun and less boring. Or third, you could just stop playing all together. I don't know about some of you, but I know if i quit VMK, my grades would slightly improve. VMK is just like the parks in some ways. They have a lot really great stuff, but to go along with it, some not-so-great stuff. If we just focus on the not-so-great, than we'll make ourselves miserable over something as petty as a children's game or park.

Anyways, that's just my two (or maybe even three) cents on the situation. Are we really going to make ourselves so miserable over a game that we have to rag on other people to make ourselves feel better?

vmk has not "lost" its magic with me, but it certainly isn't the same for me as it was a year ago (i've been playing since right after beta ended). i had some friend issues this summer, but that's water under the bridge. it was the start, however, of me re-thinking how much time i spent on vmk and i have cut back on it (though you'll find me on a little bit every day still lol). also, the new fireworks re-mix gives me a headache lol! my high score now is 8214, which is good, but isn't where it used to be on the old one (my high then was 294,408). and it's not so much the high score that troubles me as it is this new emphasis on getting "perfect" on everything, gets me all freaked out lol!

BUT, i still enjoy vmk and the friends i do have on there keep me playing :)

I agree..if you are board with vmk why do you play? I am sure that we have gotten to a point where we need to take a break for a day or two...but those of us who love vmk..we still love the game! I agree that there has been changes over the past year since I joined! But it is my friends who keep me coming back!
The people we meet on here are priceless! :goodvibes

Yes it's ture that in the past year maybe some of the prizes we get in our host gamesor quests..aren't as good as there were a year ago...or the games have been changed and we don't like them!
But that isn't that what we all asked for? We asked for changes in Fireworks..and now some complain about it! I rememeber when the change came in Pirates..and alot of people complain on that one too. We have to give change a chance!

I myself still like playing vmk after a year on here! I think that the staff and Yavn do try their best for us! Yes I do get upset at times... but that probably is more my fault then anyones elses! But more than anything...I think the people on vmk are truly the best! They go out of their way to help anyone
espically dis people! So I will say again... BOARD? No not me!
I am thankful to vmk for giving me a chance to have some fun!

I used to play VMK alot. One of the main reasons I did was so I could buy all of the furniture/items for my rooms. I looked forward to new furniture items, but now they are mostly offering either new pins or new outfits. That doesn't make me want to play. I have all of the furniture that is for sale and hope they will have new things. I love the epcot room, but where is all of the items for it?
