I am trying my best to talk my dh into a 7 D in October. We have two rooms held right now. We have not ever been on that long of a cruise. Our two dd's 7 & 9 are really excited. My dh thinks that the girls will be bored for that long of a time. My dh really enjoys going to the parks, but we have been doing that for the past three years. It is time for something new..........don't you agree? Do you think the kids will be bored? I have picked out excursions for all of us at three out of four ports. I also think my dh is afraid that he will be bored for that long of a time. He isn't the type that likes to sit and read or relax.

Do you think this is a hopeless effort on my part? Any advice??

Thanks,

Hope:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

I DON'T SEE HOW ANYBODY, ANY AGE COULD EVER BE BORED ON A 7 DAY CRUISE. THERE IS JUST SO MUCH TO DO, AND AS FAR AS THE GIRLS NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO DO YOU'LL BE LUCKY IF YOU CAN GET THEM AWAY FROM WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO EAT LUNCH AND SUPPER WITH YOU, AT LEAST THAT WAS OUR EXPERIENCE ON OUR PAST CRUISE. DH FOUND ALL KIND OF THINGS TO DO ON HIS OWN AND US TOGETHER. HE SAID HE DIDN'T CARE IF WE EVER WENT BACK TO WDW JUST GIVE HIM A CRUISE.:p

My husband, 2 sons and myself have been on two 7 day cruises with the Magic. We were sooo busy we didn't get everything in the first cruise and had to go back for a second one! The kids loved it...and my husband is one that doesn't like to sit around either....but he would end up takin a nap in the afternoon sometimes because there was too much to do and we never seemed to get enough sleep....

Do it...you will not regret it...except that you may have to catch up on some sleep when you get back!

Have fun!

That is what I was thinking. I really want to go. I have rooms on hold until March 2!! I must do some fast talking before that! My dh loves the rides at the park. I keep telling him that things have not changed since our last visit and we need to try something else DISNEY!!!

Thanks for you words of wisdom! :sunny:

IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL AROUND THE TIME YOU ARE LOOKING AT TO GO, LIKE BIRTHDAY'S OR ANNIVERSARY? MAYBE YOU GO AT IT FROM THAT ANGLE. SURPRISE FOR DD OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. GIFT TO YOU FOR ANNIVERSARY. ;)

My twin DDs (9) both cried as we drove from port. They keep asking when we are going back. They NEVER were bored. They don't know it, but we have a 3 day DCL cruise booked for their 10th birhtday in September. They don't think we are going again until 2004, so it will be a nice surprise.

I don't see how your girls could get bored. My girls wanted to stay forever!

My DH also thought 7 days might be too long -- he's not a sit-down-and-read type either. I will tell you, we are now planning on going back on another 7-day simply because we didn't have time to do a quarter of the things we wanted to do on the ship. My kids (8 and 4) were not bored for a minute, and we also had tears upon leaving the ship. There are so many different places to go and activities to do that you would have to try very hard to be bored. Even then, I doubt you'd succeed! :)

I understand your situation. Dh and I both were hesitant to take a cruise because we thought we might be bored but we kept hearing great stories from friends who took the Disney cruise. We tried the 3 day Wonder earlier this month and loved it. There was so much to do. Our trip was a great mix of family and couple time because our kids didn't want to leave the kids' club. Now we are planning a 7 day cruise on the Magic for possibly next year. Show your DH the navigators online so he can see all of the choices of activities, and let him plan some of the excursions.

Hope,
How about getting your DH to read these boards a bit, he will see how everyone with kids raves about how much they loved their cruise. Also, show him some of the Navigators for the age groups your kids are in, the Navigators can be accessed right from this page, or on www.castawayclub.com.

Once he sees how much there is to do, he might be easier to persuade:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Good Luck and happy planning!

I really don't think anyone would be bored either, but if he is really hesitant, you might want to compromise on a land/sea package with a 4 D cruise and 3 D at the Parks.

We just got back from the 7 day Eastern... On our second day, we booked another 7 day (this time western) for next year. AND, we are seriously considering doing it back to back with an Eastern because we didn't have time to do a lot of what we had planned to do. I think cruising is the BEST vacation ever... Our DD (9) also loved it and can't wait to go back. There was so much that she wanted to do, that she just couldn't fit it all in either. I thought I'd do okay with the tearing up since I knew we were planning to go back next year but when we hugged our server and asst server goodbye at the disembarkation breakfast(Darko and Antonio - who by the way were the very best!!!), I couldn't hold the tears back!! Plus, you meet the greatest people!! (Especially the DISers...) I would definitely jump at the chance to go on the cruise if I were you!! The parks will always be there....
Just my two cents....
