We are going to be in Orlando for 6 days since the day we leave doesn't count. That means we can each bring back $200 duty free correct? My question is, how is it determined what you pay when you go over this amount...ie your amount is lets say $150 over the allowed amount. What would I be paying in duty and taxes? Just so I have a rough idea of how much its going to cost me. Thanks.

The taxes part is easy - it will likely be GST + PST.

The duty part depends a little on what you're bringing back. Most American-made goods will be duty-free thanks to NAFTA. For goods manufactured elsewhere and subsequently imported to the USA (where you purchased them), the duty rate will depend of what it is and its country of origin. There is a special duty rate of 7% for goods where you exceed your limit by $300 or less. The document at the CBSA web site is here.

Hope that helps.
