I'm still trying to figure out VMK. I don't play often and I'm still trying to figure out what it's all about. Tonight, for the first time, I found a room that said "DIS" in the title. It also said "all DIS members welcome." I went in and just hung back, reading and looking around, seeing if I recognized any names. After a few minutes, I got booted out, and it said I couldn't come back in for a while. Why? Was it because I just stood there for too long? I'm getting really frustrated with the game because I just seem to wander around aimlessly. Maybe I should just give up. :badpc:

I was booted from a DIS room too. I was really excited to find the room since I figured I would reconize names from here. The thing is I would of just left if I wasn't welcomed.

I booted you by accident Kaycee. I was actually doing a few things at once and was going to hit ask to be a friend and my mouse jumped. :( Forgive me?

Of course I forgive you...I'm just glad it wasn't something I did!! Thanks for letting me know what happened, I feel better now, lol. :)

Yes, just don't ask me where I am, lol

You start by wandering aimlessly. Then you find out that you can earn
credits by finding the "characters" in different locations and clicking on them.
Then you discover "VMK Central" and the Hidden Mickey Quest. :earsboy:

Soon, you'll be off trying to "photograph" all 50 Mickeys. Then you find out
about the Street Party Music Game. You create a song. Get a few credits.
Play it. Get a few more, each hour. Then you discover the other games. pirate:

Then you read the FAQ sticky notes on the DIS about the games, how to
play them, how to apply "magic pin" and "credits" codes, and the holy grail:
VMK Quests at DL/WDW. :cool1:

Then you play the games continuously to buy stuff. Furnishing for the
rooms, special clothes, pins.....stuff. And you have to keep crashing your
Jungle Cruise boat a thousand times just to accumulate all the stuff you
want, including stuff you've heard will be released weeks from now costing
a gazillion credits.

And speaking of crashing...the game will crash on you for no reason, forcing
you to log in, again and again. :badpc: But that doesn't stop you.
No. By this time, you're well and truly addicted, and you're probably still up
at 1am eastern time, wearing "Mickey" clothes, dancing in the Castle
Forecourt area. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :cool1: :earboy2:

I think I covered the progression of VMK Addiction. :smooth:

Uh oh, notice that there is no mention of the progression of VMK recovery...

Bezoar...I think it's because none of us seem to want to start a VMK recovery program. (I sure don't!) The closest thing to it is MrGenie's 12 step plan...which has people proclaming everywhere that they are "VMK Add-Ducks." And not really doing much else...;)

BriarRosie, you are so, so right. :rotfl2:

I have progressed to the beginning of paragraph 3 of the progression, and I am starting to see the addiction take hold. I know I should get out while I still can, but I think it's too late...

Bezoar: Good heavens, man! Why would anyone want to recover? Horrors!

Fly: I see that you agree with my assessment. Good call. ;)

Kaycee: Once they've sucked you into their world of avatars and small shiny
objects, they've already gotten hold of your soul.

Hee hee. :rotfl2:
