Booster Seat ?

This is the 1st. time we will be renting a car, we normally drive down. I though I saw mentioned a small booster seat that folds up & you can use. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I'm not sure about that, but you might want to check with your car rental place and see if they rent boosters. I know they do rent carseats.

With a seat back that kind of slips into the base - very nice for traveling! The back is adjustable to different heights, and has a slot for the shoulder seat belt to slide into so you get a very good fit to the child. There are several models (it's been a few years, but I think ours is a "Roadster" model). We took one of these along when we flew - very easy to stick in a duffel, or even a plastic bag at the airport and check. Only downside is the price - > $100 as I recall. But worth is as it's a VERY SAFE seat, comfortable for kids, and with the multiple adjustments to the back, will fit a child for many years! Am sure you can find them on the web, sorry don't know who carries them anymore as my DS is 9 now, so it's been a few years.....

Depending on how big your child is, what about bringing just the seat type of booster seat. You know, the big cushion ones. You can probably just stick those in your luggage...not very heavy. I checked for some to rent via dollar and budget and they are charging $7-9 per seat per day!! I have 2 kids and we'll be there for 14 days..... might as well go to walmart and buy new ones!!!

I read some bad reviews about that seat that is like a thick pad. Seems it shifts around from side to side (one person said she looked back and her child had fallen asleep, pulling the pad off to the side). Some stores stopped carrying them and when I asked, they said too many people were returning them because they were unsafe. You better off bringing your own or paying the money to rent.
