Day Three - Wednesday, November 7, 2001
With camera and autograph book in stroller, Boo and I were off to the food court and to check out the Character Caravan. There were four or five adults - no children - in the lobby area and no characters. After inquiry, we learned they should be there in about 10 minutes or so. With the lack of people around, I was sure we had time to pick up our pastries and drinks. We were back in less than 10 minutes to find a full lobby area, 30-minute wait for characters and they would only be there for 20 minutes. We walked around the outside of the lobby area so Boo could at least see John and Gideon which made him perfectly happy so we didn't stay to try for autographs.
DD & DS were almost ready - after all this was golf & spa day and there is no way DS is late for a tee time. We saw him off in the complimentary taxi and we took the bus to Magic Kingdom and launch to Grand Floridian for DD's spa appointment. After leaving her, Boo and I walked to the Polynesian, had a snack, then took the monorail all the way around back to the Grand Floridian. We collected DD who was most pleased with and very relaxed from her massage. We shopped (notice a recurring activity here?) in the GF shops and lunched at the GF Café.
The three of us took the monorail to TTC, then bus to Downtown Disney where we shopped, got snacks and bus back to PO-R. In the Christmas shop, Boo announced, "Wadies and Gent'men." From whom has he heard these remarks? Once again, we have a take-charge two-year-old.
DS had returned from his golfing; he's ready to play Magnolia course again. He was not overly enthused about the 85 he shot, but had a good time. We changed Boo into long pants, then off to Epcot for dinner in Japan. Dinner was excellent. Tapestry of Dreams was just starting when we finished, so we walked and periodically stopped to view. Got a Kaki Gori for Boo which he consumed alone except for the small taste he allowed his mother and me. Yum - Yum - I want one for myself next time.
We got his passport signed/stamped in Japan, Germany and the United States, then headed out just as IllumiNations was beginning. Boo watched the fireworks as we walked. It's a l-o-n-g way to the buses from the far side of World Showcase. Fortunately, we beat most of the IllumiNations crowd.
