Hi all - Here we go. I'll break it up by attractions, waits, places I ate, Castmembers, cleaniliness, etc.
Rode Everest 8 times. Awesome ride. A bit disoreinting at times, but great nonetheless.
With the exception of Animal Kingdom on arrival day, which was an Everest preview Day, crowds were scarce. I walked onto just about everything. An example - Wednesday at the Magic Kingdom, gates opened at 9:00AM. By 10:00AM, I had stopped at Main Street Bakery and sat down for a cinammon roll and milk. I rode Space, Splash and Thunder Mountain, Winnie The Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan's Flight and the Haunted Mansion.
The parks all looked great. Beautiful and clean. After a few trips (and now thanks to Everest) I have a new appreciation for Animal Kingdom.
Restrooms were ALL clean and smelled just fine. No probs.
Most meals were good. wasn't impressed with the Chicken Parmesan I got at Alfredo's. In fact, the chicken parm I had at the food court at ASMovies a couple days later was much better. Ohana, I liked, but I'm VERY disappointed to say they got rid of the banana bread. Sci Fi was it's usual slow service, sub-par food, with great atmosphere. Planet Hollywood is no longer a necessity to me. The outside of the building looks AWFUL in the daytime, and the food just isn't worth the price. Went to Rainforest Cafe 3 times, and had the Paradise Pot Roast everytime. Great atmosphere, very good food. Good service too.
Transportation from ASMovies was EXCELLENT. The very last night I was there, I stood on a bus to Downtown Disney. Other than that, I had a seat on every trip. Never waited more than 15 minutes to or from anywhere. Well, last day at Magic Kingdom, took about 25 minutes for a bus to arrive. That stunk as it was raining and a bit chilly.
I checked out the Wilderness Lodge. It was BEAUTIFUL. I fell in love with it, and just sat in the lobby (and actually tok a nap). Transportation to Downtown Disney stunk though. I waited there 30 minutes for a bus, then had to stop at the Grand Floridian. It took about 30 minutes from the time I got on the bus to get to the Marketplace. From All Stars, it's about 12 minutes.
OK - Here's the one MAJOR problem I had. I was supposed to check out on Sunday. However, I decided to surprise my wife, and check out Saturday and come home. So, on Tuesday, I went down to let the front desk know and to change my Magical Express Reservation. The CM I spoke with said "No problem, just come down the morning you check out, and we'll refund you the extra night." Great. However, he said no changes were necessary for Magical Express. I knew this was wrong, but said OK. Anyways, I went back down on Wednesday, and had Magical Express changed. The CM I dealt with was VERY rude and abrupt. Finally, Saturday morning arrives, and ME was picking me up at 4:15AM. So, I go to the front desk where there was only 1 person working at 3:45AM to check out. She asked me 5 times how I booked my "package". I explained to her, each time, it wasn't a package. It was a room only online at Disneyworld.com. She just didn't get it. She was very rude as well. Then she tells me there's nothing she can do to check me out because the computer isn't up yet. Yeah, that makes sense. So, everybody that has an early flight out can't be checked out of the system? Give me a break. So, rudely, she says she'd take care of it when the computer came up. Needless to say, I had no doubts she wouldn't.
So, I called ASMovies when I arrived home in the afternoon. This was about 6:00PM by the time I finally called. I was still booked in. She never checked me out. Luckily, I had the girl's name and the CM I spoke with was VERY helpful, and checked me out and refunded the money to my credit card.
Well, that's about it. Oh yeah, weather was great all week. Rained on Friday, but that was it.
All Star Movies was great. Much cleaner than last time I stayed. I requested an upper floor room at either Toy Story and 101 Dalmations, and got the Dalmations upper floor. Great location.
