Well.
I am sorry if this thread offends anyone.
I saw that there was a "Current Reading" thread, but I would like some honest opinions.

Since testing season is coming around (well..at least for me it is)
We have been doing a lot of reading during class, because I whiz right through the SOL's and so my question for you today is..

What are some books you would recommend to me?

Im very weird. I don't like sci-fi books for a fun enjoyable read
I kinda like those books that make you feel really good on the inside but laugh at the same time.

Examples of what I mean :
Love, Cajun style
Totally Joe
Amazing Grace

Do you have any book suggestions?
Other then Twilight? ;)

Ive heard good things about the book "Flipped"
is it good?

i went to the book store yesterday.
which is pretty rare for me.

but i bought four books.
the girlfriend something or other that a guy goes online and picks up girls.
1000 reasons not to kiss a boy.
prom crashers
and another one about prom how they like go to prom with like four girls and five guys or something like that.

but i'd love new ideasss :)

I read a lot. Some of my favorites are The Other Boylen Girl by Phillipa Gregory and all of her other books Constant Princess, The Bolyen Inheritance and The Queen's fool. These books deal with some mature topics, just a warning.
I also really loved 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult
I loved Sloppy Firsts, Second Helpings and I am currently reading Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty.
Gossip Girl is good and so it the It Girl series
Also TTYL, TTFN and L8r, g8r by Luaren Myracle are all written in the form of an IM conversation and are funny and a quick read.
ANYTHING by Mitch Albom
Speak
Anthem by Ayn Rand

Just a few of my favs

Hmm, well my FAVORITE book is Gone with the Wind, but for a book more relatable...

I love perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

Well, a lot of these are fantasy, but not exactly Science Fiction, per se.

City of Bones
A Great and Terrible Beauty
Flipped is pretty good. I read it a while ago.
Stargirl
Uglies... is sci-fi. But it's good.
Sarah Dessen books. The Truth About Forever, Just Listen, This Lullaby, etc.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
TWILIGHT!!!..sorry, I had to.

I shall add more when I remember.

I've been reading Atonement lately. It's a pretty good book, but more of an adult novel than a teen kind of book.

I also loved Fahrenheit 451 (I haven't read this is forever, but I absolutely love it).

Maybe read The Unofficial Guide to WDW? xD

I can't really think of any books that you said, but these are some of my favorites.

Any Dan Brown book.
Life as we knew it.
Lurlene McDaniel books. (Warning: Sad)
Meg Cabot books
Water for Elephants
The book theif (Almost 400 page book...I read it in 7 hours at school. AMAZING (It's about the holocaust))
Beach of Promise
House
Romeo and Juliet (If you can figure out the language, it's great)
The Odyssey. (Older, but good)
Night
I loved Flipped.
The sisterhood of the traveling pants (I love the first one the best)
The girl who loved Tom Gordon (Must read it, I could barely put it down. It's by Stephen King. It's not so much scary but intense.)

Yeah...alot of those are kinda sad and probably not anything you're looking for to read, but I can't think of anything else.

I have read one Lurlene McDaniel book, and I don't think I'll ever pick one up again. I think I remember bawling my eyes out, emotionally in pain. While it was good enough to make me cry, I told myself I didn't need to be crying everytime I picked up her books.
But for people who love to cry, good books.

I'm pretty sure I've read:

She died too young.
Garden of Angels and Don't die, my love.

I think it was Lifted up by angels and then Until angels close my eyes. I don't remember.
I'm not sure if I've read all those, they are just the titles that really seem familiar.
I went to the library today. I really should've picked up another one. I completely forgot about them. I almost cried reading all the ones I did.
They are so good, but extremely sad.

Thanks!
I might be going to the library (the nice one :)) soon...so
If you all dont mind.
Im going to print all of your suggestions and see what I can find.

Later though.
I only go to the library on weekends :(

It was Angel of Hope that I read.
I remember it being sad.
